Sweet Logitech keyboard/mouse/remote

August 20, 2005 at 02:22 PM

Not too ridiculously priced either. I wonder if that's going to be their new keyboard layout and style?

Cheap nerds trample each other

August 16, 2005 at 06:32 PM

$50 bucks for a four-year-old Apple iBook isn't really even that great of a deal. Laptops are obsolete in about 18 months, these things are ancient.

Verizon FiOS

August 10, 2005 at 08:41 PM

It's hardly available anywhere, but you should definitely check if it's an option where you live. Fiber optics to the premises allow you to get ridiculous speeds and for some reason Verizon is also offering ridiculous prices. 5 Mbps for $40 or 15 Mbps for $50.

I'm paying $50 for 1.5 Mbps from Grande, I'm getting hosed.

digg

August 02, 2005 at 08:57 PM

digg is different. In their words...

Digg is a technology news website that combines social bookmarking, dynamic social RSS, and non-hierarchical editorial control.

The most popular stories make it onto the home page so there's always interesting stuff. I just started using it last week, but check out the stories I'm digging.

Flickr adds new features

August 02, 2005 at 08:45 PM

They've added clustering, which appears to be breaking tags up into more defined terms. Check out turkey, I'm assuming it's looking at the other tags associated with the photo and determining which type of turkey it's talking about.

There's some other interesting stuff too.

PSP browser review

August 01, 2005 at 11:26 PM

CNET does a quick and dirty review of the new PSP web browser. I'm pretty excited about it, but I have plenty of WiFi enabled crap in this apartment I can browse the web with so I'll wait till the US version of the firmware is released.

Windows Vista Beta 1 Screenshots

August 01, 2005 at 08:48 PM

First video I've seen.

Definitely looking at least a little promising considering it's the first beta. Hopefully they'll continue to improve things and bring the sidebar back.

My biggest request is instant-on coming out of standby like I get with my Powerbook. It's really amazing to sit down, turn it on and be off and running in a grand total of like 2 seconds. I'm spoiled and want that on all my computers.

PS3 insider details?

August 01, 2005 at 07:58 PM

MaxConsole.net has some details on the PS3 that I haven't heard before. Pretty interesting if it's true, I'm still a little concerned about the lack of hard drive when it initially ships.

Yahoo buys Konfabulator

July 25, 2005 at 07:10 AM

Konfabulator's creators Pixoria have been purchased by Yahoo. This is fantastic news for everyone at Pixoria, and more importantly for us.

Konfabulator will now be free to everybody, become more stable, gets a new API, Flickr integration, and who knows what else.

Nothing too exciting, still looking like a pretty early beta. Interface looks pretty good, but I wonder what happened to the sidebar I've seen previously.

How to fund your company with online poker

June 13, 2005 at 09:53 AM

If they're good enough to pay the bills with online poker in 10 - 15 hours, maybe they should spend the other 40 hours playing too.

(Brad) Meador, who is head of operations at ClearContext, and Deva Hazarika, the chief executive officer, have been playing poker in lieu of collecting paychecks for the past year while working to get their three-person company off the ground. After logging 50 or more hours a week at the office, each one spends another 10 to 15 hours, usually on weekends and evenings, at their favorite poker sites--mainly Partypoker.com, Ultimatebet.com and Pokerstars.
