January 22, 2007 at 08:06 PM

General conclusion: The photo printing kiosks in the chain stores blow and Shutterfly and Snapfish are excellent if you can wait a little.

Print at Target from Flickr

October 27, 2005 at 09:26 PM

Finally. I need to stop having the uploadr automatically resize my photos for me if I plan on ever printing them, the higher resolution the better. A much desired feature that those of who store all of our photos there will definitely take advantage of. I'm sure it'll be excellent source of income for Flickr and Target as well.

TexasSports.com using SlideShowPro

June 21, 2005 at 10:38 AM

Was looking for photos of last night's Texas game and saw that TexasSports.com is using SlideShowPro for their galleries now. I wonder when that happened. They have a separate slideshow set up for each sport, and then each slideshow contains multiple galleries.

Pretty cool implementation.

pigeon attack

June 12, 2005 at 02:55 PM

I freaking hate pigeons and think they're disgusting and dirty, something tells me this kid will not be their biggest fans when she's older either.

lohan-skinny

Someone needs to buy Lindsay Lohan and Nicole Richie a sandwich. They are seriously skinny in a very unhealthy way.

Wow, very very cool.

The fog really tops off the surreal atmosphere. I don't know where it is, but the site's in Japanese.

Most. Distrubing. Teddy Bear. Ever.

That is seriously weird. I'm hoping it's just a bear whose coat you can change posed oddly. So weird.

Hay bales

Amazing photos on a daily basis. Somehow finds great shots like this one or this one. The photographer, Jonathan Day-Reiner, creates great shots out of amazing scenes, and has an uncanny ability to make ordinary things seem spectacular.

Blending Flickr images which share the same tags. No human is involved in choosing, positioning, or blending the images. Some pretty cool images result.

Shelter animals slideshow

March 09, 2005 at 08:46 AM

Going to the animal shelter is fun and cute and so incredibly depressing at the same time.

Christina and I used to go before we got Reesey, playing with the pups and looking for the right one. Unfortunately most of the dogs there are either older or going to grow up gigantic. I guess people just realize they can't keep that big of an animal in the city.

I don't get the point of 'The Gates'

February 16, 2005 at 02:07 PM
The Gates

Kottke and many of the other weblogs I read have linked to them over and over, but I just don't understand the purpose of The Gates. They appear to be orange fabric suspended from an orange set of poles, times a seven and a half thousand. They seem to really overwhelm Central Park.

Is it art? A statement? Neither? How did it cost $20 million? I'm not the only one wondering.

A puppy watching the Puppy Bowl

February 08, 2005 at 11:50 AM

We watched it a little. Reesey kept barking at it and trying to figure out what was wrong. She would go behind the TV and see if she could find the whimpering puppy back there. So cute.

Poor little Reesey didn't get to see the puppies in HD, Grande sucks.
