She was once so fresh faced and bubbly, but above all I bet she was healthy and happy! I'm not a huge Lindsey Lohan fan or a Nichole Richie fan for that matter , but I have nothing personal against them either; however, it is quite obvious from the pictures and from recent red carpet shots I've seen on the news recently that the weight loss they have experienced is indeed drastic and dangerous. The pressure in Hollywood to be thin is straining but this is just too much. Looking good and looking like you live off of water and croutons are to very different things. Obviously, they both looked good to begin with, being at what the average american and BMI calculations would consider a normal and healthy weight for their frame, but now they look like they are dying of anorexia or something. It's horrible to look at them destroy themselves in this way. The thought that they are probably still losing weight as we speak is sad. I myself have struggled with my body image and lost about 80 pounds recently, finally reaching a normal and healthy weight for my frame; however, I still wanted to be thinner, much to the dismay of my family and friends who constantly urged me to stop dieting, and these pictures have finally showed me what others were talking about in terms of drastic weight loss and the toll is takes on the body. Hopefully they will see they were perfect the way they were and try to stop letting the weight issue rule their lives the way it seems to be.

It just looks like they're overweight compared to other super skinny celebrities. Has it ever occurred to you that they were fine the way they were? People need to start accepting people for what and who they are. What's the point in starving yourself to become something you aren't? Not even people who are clearly overweight should be starving themselves... It's unhealthy, stressful, and effects every aspect of your life. So stop encouraging starvation... Think of the people in third world countries that have no choice but to starve. Be greatful that you have the choice, and take it without complaints.

So give them a break, you are u to judge them anyway? How much do you weigh? Would you like that to be publicized all ova the media and have complete strangers constantly criticize you because of it? I'm eighteen years old and live by the sea, I know too many ppl obsessed by their weight, I myself have tried diet pills and all that, but guess what? About 1/3 of all females have taken some extreme measure when it comes to weight control! How many of you have purged before, or skipped meals or anything? How many yo yo diet? They are celebrities, yes, they can act as role models, true, but they themselves have their own role models, and they are pressured by a whole range of factors, including the media and society which continues to promote the whole thin is beautiful image. They are victims of a disease, a real psychological disorder, why not keep that in mind next time you criticize them.

My boyfriend was looking at these pictures and just shaking his head saying, "What in the world have they done to themselves?" hey, all i can say is that being anorexic is so not cool. I know this from first hand about a year ago i used to weigh 145 pounds i thought that i was so fat, i was only 14 i didn't really know that starving myself would hurt me that bad...But when i started i weighed 145 and by the time i was done i weighed 85 pounds i had developed an eating disorder and even worse the guy that i had a crush on hated me for being a fake. he would put his food in front of me and say are you hungry? but i finally woke up and realized being skinny is not everything and now today im back normal and healthy and i weigh 132 pounds. Then i had to gain back all the respect that i had lost while i was anorexic and it sucked. so believe me girls don't go anorexic! guys are so not attracted to that.....

And as much as you might not like it, it's the truth and you know it. Chicks should weigh 100 lbs at 5 foot 3 inches and are allowed to add about 2 lbs for every inch taller. Maybe, maybe, some chicks can get away with 3 lbs per inch, but they better have at least a full B cup.

I think it's really sad that Lindsey has changed her image in such a drastic way. I heard that the blond hair was for a film but she looked so gorgeous just the way she was. For anyone that wants to look the way she does is crazy.
It's one thing to be happy but it's a completely different thing if you are willing to harm your health just to look that skinny. well first of all all yalls are right these girls look sick, i havent seen as many pics of nicole as i have of lindsay and i say lindsay looks really bad.. its one thing to lose weight the healthy way and another to slowly kill urself. Today people are actually under the weight they should be at this age but hopefully they dont mean to be. as for lohan and nicole go somewhere and eat something other then croutons.. not that i want them to be dead but they will be if they keep it up. i thought lohan as not gonna let this stuff get to her head, she was so pretty before, and if she thinks she looks better now, shes wrong i think,oo and jasmine.. good job its hard to lose that kind of weight the right way..good for you. as for nicole richie if she truly is her supposed height and weight of 5'0" and 97 pounds that's a bmi of 18.9 which is in the normal range.

when someone has an eating disorder, it is not just a cry out for attention. there are studies being done now that show that it can be genetic, and that it may also be caused by a chemical balance in the brain just like depression is. anorexia is not "just" this or that....it can't be lumped into one description like that. it has many levels and is different for each sufferer. and we can't just "eat a sandwich." if it were that easy, 10% of us wouldn't die.

hollywood stars are pressured to be thin. i do not know if lindsay or nicole truly have eating disorders....no one in the public really does. people just assume.

though i do not condone eating disorders in the least, i will defend mine. but that is part of the disease. most anorexics, at least in part, view their disease as a blessing because they are in control. of course, the cons outweigh the pros...but even knowing that we are slowly killing ourselves is not enough to stop us.

i think lindsay, nicole, and mary kate for that matter look amazing. regardless of what anyone says, thin IS in. it doesn't matter that typical guys like butts and boobs or that you hear people on the street say they look "sickly." thin is in style, and i don't ever see it going out. not that that would matter to me....i'd still find bones beautiful.

also....my fiance rather enjoys my bones....especially my hip bones. so you cannot say all guys like boobs and butts and all that other disgusting useless fat.

I think Nicole is absolutely gorgeous and i always have no matter size she was but she does look even better now than back in the day when she first came onto the scene.
Lindsay i think feels alot of pressure to be accepted at the moment. i mean how would you feel if your ex-boyfriend starts seeing all these other gorgeous girls, your parents are going through a messy divorce and it's all out in the open for everyone to see.
All of us have our own little problems that contribute to how we look. Stress is a major factor in todays society and it does make you lose weight whether you want to or not in a lot of people.

I think lindsay does need to put on the weight as she is much too thin for her height.She's 5'5 and her weight is apparently top secret as i cant seem to find it but she looks alot more emaciated then nicole.
Nicole on the other hand only seems so super skinny because she is actually only 5'1 and i know first hand(i'm also 5'1) that any weight flucuations you have on a tiny frame look very dramatic. She is, last i heard, 97lbs which is actually a BMI of 18 so yes she needs to put on a bit more weight but it's not as drastic as everyone makes it out to be.

I think Nicole is gorgeous but it is clear she is probably taking her weight too far. The pressure must be so immense when you are so well known. My thoughts and prayers go out to her.

Lindsay is no different really. In a way I dont think she is as severe as Nicole. Height makes you appear slimmer and Nicole is definately more than a tad shorter. Lindsay has the advantage of looking thinner.

I am 15 and 5'2". I weigh 32kg. Is this normal?

I'm fifteen, and my best friend and i often go days without eating. We share stories and we get such kicks out of hunger. I know it's not good, and i tell her. But there's so much pressure from all sides these days for girls to be so cookie cutter perfect. I walk down the street and i pretty much idolize every skinny girl i see. I crave it.

My older sister said to me, "One day you'll grow up and realise it doesn't matter what you look like." Some days i feel totaly comfortable with my body image, then i look down and see my wobbly bits and i freak out.

I have come to the conclusion to believe that there is a certain message that fashion and hollywood glamour is trying to send us: the blond innocent flat ass little girl image is sexy, because it represents our classic idea of what a virgin is supposed to look like. Think about it. At the age were having sex now, the only age we are really virgins is like 4 or 5. For a grown woman to try and represent that image of a virgin 4 or 5 year old, she must go to extreme measures such as nude gloss makeup, blonde hair (think goldilocks), and of course, the dreaded size 1 body (think little girl). What kind of a man finds a little girl sexy? Huh. Think about that one next time you try and lose weight to become a "little girl"

I think that they should do what they want. Anorexia, Bulimia, and Over Eating are psychological illnesses, like everybody was saying. And Nicole lost her weight over a healthy amount of time, whether she didnt stop when she should have is another matter. They are celebrities in the spotlight all the time, usually for the wrong reasons, and have people taking their picture all the time.
Everybody needs to stop hounding them so they dont have as much stress so they CAN put on the extra pounds. Stress effects people differently, possibly it affects l&n the same way, they stop eating and lose weight because they are never hungry

you all shouldnt judge them. i think nicole looks amazing and i think lindsay does too. i love them both. maybe thats the way they wanna look.

UR SOOOO WRONG!!! any mental disorder that a person has is b/c of that person's (and ONLY that person's)struggles and experiences. every1 needs 2 respect that people do slip up and have trouble dealing with things.. especially being a celebrity. i've been dealing with anorexia (and now other forms of eating disorers & substance abuses)for about 1 1/2 yrs now... u wudn't no it b/c i've gained the wieght back. im not trying to tell every1 a sob story or whatnot, its just that ppl need to understand that just b/c the weights back up doesn't mean the depressive feelings ever went away. if what these 2(and SOOOOO mnay other girls) are dealing with is an eating disorder, why wudn't you support their recovery??? the truth is, i have no idea what they're dealing with... what i do no is that almost all sorts of abnormal living (ex: always thinking about your size or drug ur DIEING TO GET)are linked with depression. having camera's on u at any moment... wondering if ur going to bend a certain way and look "huge" for a codak shot... wondering the next thing the tabloids might come up with... is probably the worst thing struggling ppl can imagine right now... well HELLO, its their reality. u wonder why they hit their breaking point, just GIVE THEM A BREAK... they cud rly use it. maybe if they got the support from EVERY1 wen ppl 1st realized they needed it, then they wudnt b going to jail. ther's not many other places to go in their spiral downwards... just keep that in mind next time ur feeding into "the latest" on troubled celebrities.

and for ne1 struggling rite now:
we all hav different stories, but its important to share urs. enuf w/ the bullshit, "im fine" deal... it's going to b rly hard but pls believe me wen i say things WILL get better. after hearing that im still struggling, i wudda laughed at my own edvice, but no that things are continueing upward 4 me... which way are they going for u?
