Yahoo! acquires del.icio.us

December 11, 2005 at 01:45 PM

Yahoo has now bought del.icio.us, Flickr, and Konfabulator in the last year or so, three very cool apps. You have to give them credit for recognizing something big and forking over the cash to get it. I haven't noticed any issues with Flickr since their acquisition, let's hope they don't screw up del.icio.us either.

December 01, 2005 at 08:35 PM

Completely useless site to keep track of all the sites that don't have any Xbox 360's in stock.

Logitech Harmony remote for Xbox 360

November 14, 2005 at 09:27 PM

Pretty sweet, I've been kind of wishing for a Harmony remote for a while but it's a little useless. I think the simple remote included with the Xbox 360 plus the universal remote from the my receiver should do the job.

Update: Changed the link to a much better article from IGN.

Xbox 360 kiosk video walkthrough

November 08, 2005 at 09:14 PM

I haven't been to Wal-Mart since I first looked for the Xbox 360 kiosks a couple of weeks ago, but this video shows just what I'm missing. A Microsoft intro to the kiosks, now all I need to do is actually play it.

Online Calendar Thingy

November 05, 2005 at 09:15 PM

MyPIMP (it stands for My Personal Information Management Portal) is a open source free online calendar, tasks, and contacts system that I've been using for a little over a week now. So far it's looking pretty good, easy to use (if you're using a broswer other than Internet Explorer) and full of Ajax-y goodness. Very much still in beta and the groups feature (which I'm looking forward to) isn't active yet, but worth checking out.

Fruitcast - Podcast advertising

November 03, 2005 at 09:57 PM

I don't have a podcast (though I listen to quite a few), but I'm not sure what I think about turning over that much control to them. It sounds like it makes everything a ton easier.

Television broadcasters must switch to all-digital transmissions by 2009, I predict that's about when Grande will actually get around to getting HD.

Playable Xbox 360's at Wal-Mart

October 19, 2005 at 09:38 PM

They didn't have it here at the Wal-Mart near me (didn't look like they were setting up for it either) but some stores around the country have their display units up and going. Some movies and playable demos of Call of Duty 2, Kameo, and King Kong.

Get the complete Xbox 360 Premium Edition for free.

NES Micro

October 16, 2005 at 12:06 PM

The Game Boy Micro is a dumb idea, this is much cooler. Ben Heckendorn created a tiny NES that's just slightly larger than the cartridge itself. Check out his other projects.

The iPod (with video)

October 12, 2005 at 09:34 PM

Very sweet, something that size and with that much storage is perfect for video. It looks like I could save TV shows in Divx format on my PC (using my ATI All-In-Wonder) and transfer them right to the iPod, if it's not that easy then someone could create a simple conversion tool to do the job.

I'd never pay $2 per episode to Apple to watch television on the thing.

Honda unveils vehicle designed for dogs

October 06, 2005 at 08:19 PM

I think Reesey is small enough we could almost just shove her into our existing glove compartment. Though I'm pretty sure she'd throw a fit if we tried to force her to sit anywhere other than my lap.
