iHome?
Most people are assuming it's fake, but the idea kind of makes sense. Instead of just a headless iMac
, why not release more of a home theater Mac for use in the living room?

Good news, bad news for local HD with DirecTV
They're going to start offering local HD channels by the second half of this year, but it's using a different technology that will require a different receiver. Good thing I've put it off this long.

PSP will probably launch in March
Sony Computer Entertainment CEO Ken Kutargi announced that they would probably
release the PSP here in March. I've already preordered mine, hopefully they release a grand total of seven of them so I can sell it for a tidy profit.

SixApart buying LiveJournal
Six Apart has purhcased LiveJournal, but what are they going to do with it? They have a ton of free users and some that pay a small fee, but nowhere near what TypePad charges.

43 Things
Pretty cool site. The main idea behind it is that we can all improve ourselves if we focus on a set of small goals, forty-three to be exact. It's easy to browse through other people's goals, add your own, and make posts about them. You can even have it post all your entries to your MT, Blogger, LiveJournal, or TypePad weblog.
I'm using the site to power the new Goals section of my Doing weblog. It's brand new so it's still a little buggy, but hopefully it'll keep getting better.

TiVoToGo launches!!!
TiVoToGo is officially available. You can now send recorded shows to your PC, but DVD burning is still not available. Unfortunately the Sonic MyDVD software that's going to be required is going to cost additional money, hopefully not too much.
It's perfect timing, I can send my newly recorded copy of The Rose Bowl and keep it forever.
Update: Looks like your actual TiVo box actually has to have a certain software update for it to work. You need version 7.1.x and I have something like 4.2 or so. Pretty dissappointing if you ask me. I signed up to be on the priority updates
list, but it could still be a week or two before I'm ready to go.

VOOM To Cease Operations?
Wow, that would suck big time for a lot of people. I have been thinking of getting Voom on and off for a while now, and I'd probably have it already if they didn't require a land-line phone.
According to online reports, VOOM has about 26,000 subscribers, creating in the neighborhood of $5,900,000 in revenue. Total operating expenses will top out at over $75,000,000 this year creating a virtual black hole of profitability, even for the deep-pocketed Cablevision.
That blows.

Texas brings WiFi to rest stops
The Texas Department of Transportation has signed a deal with Coach Connect to provide WiFi at highway rest stops. Now I never have to go more than fifty miles without checking my email.
Cost for 20 minutes will be $1.99, followed by $3.99 for 24 hours, $7.99 for a week, or $29.99 per month. Coach Connect hopes also to support this network of hotspots with the help of sponsors.
That's not really bad, but having to pay and deal with advertisers is just a little much.

Testing cell phones ties up 911
Wow I had no idea people were this stupid. They get a new cell phone and want to test it out
so they call 911. Hopefully this is only an issue with California and their liberal inhabitants. Morons.

The Guy Game = kiddie porn
I understand why they're taking the game off shelves. What I don't understand is how you can lie about your age, take your clothes off, and then sue the people you lied to. Where's the logic in that?
She's even suing Sony and Microsoft, just because the game appeared on their consoles.
According to the lawsuit:
The plaintiff is still a teenager and wishes to attend college, develop her career and be active in her community and church.

Mark Cuban tells Chad Pennington to get a blog
The NYC media pissed Chad Pennington off and rather than trying to explain why to that very same group of people, Mark Cuban suggests he should start his own weblog. Not a bad idea.

Norwegian dude proposes via iPod engraving
Best part is that some day this guy’s kids are going to ask him about how he proposed to their mother, and their going to be totally incredulous at the thought of an iPod that can only hold 20GB.
Zing.

PCMag reviews MSN Spaces
I've lost all respect for PC Magazine. God, MSN Spaces freaking blows and they gave it a four out of five. Everyone has said it's horribly difficult to set up and it looks absolutely fugly. If you want a free blogging service, use LiveJournal.
