I love the MPAA
Whoops, I guess I should keep my mouth shut about BitTorrent and the MPAA and RIAA. I take back everything I said here, here, here, here, and oh yeah here. It was all lies.
Oh, and those mean things I said here and definitely here? You knew I was just kidding, right? Are we still homies?
I miss the good old days of the original Napster and even crappy AudioGalaxy. (via Jeremy Flint)

DirecTV creating their own DVR
This is probably bad news for TiVo, as 75% of their new subscribers right now come from DirecTV. If they lose that source, they'll have to come up with new ways to increase their customer base.

iPod photo as business expense
Seems they've created software that'll take a PowerPoint presentation (for example) and export it as images that you can than import into your iPod photo. Then you can hook the iPod to a projector. Pretty good excuse to pick one up.

Traffic building tips
I think I do most of this stuff, but I good definitely do a better job of updating with quality content more often. The focused content will be tough since this is a personal site, but with my design site I should do a better job of that too. Here's a summary of their tips:
- Good content
- Focused content
- Get featured
- Keep them coming back
- Keep it Fresh
- Keep it clean (Your code that is)
- Submit to Yahoo! and DMOZ

The other great debate
Everyone is talking about who should be ranked number 1 and number 2, and which of the three undefeated teams is going to be left out. The race for who is number 4 is actually much closer, and the consequences of being left out are much worse.

SlideShow on the Way
Very interesting stuff. I'm still considering options on Matt's site for displaying tons of photos. This may be one good way. Hmmm...

Prince of Persia: Warrior Within
IGN has a review up of the sequel to one of my favorite recent games Prince of Persia. Looks like they're not happy about some of the changes that were made but overall still think it's a pretty great game.

Nintendogs
What an adorable and pointless game. At least it's a game that appears to use the touch screen of the Nintendo DS, it doesn't look like any of the ones that were released with the system really do. (via ModernPooch)

Don't delete weblogs!
I thought it was an MT-related issue or possibly something I screwed up, but as Greg over at Airbag was told it's actually an MT-Blacklist issue. Apparently Jay agrees and hopefully he will fix whatever the problem is soon.
Both MovableType and MT-Blacklist are great pieces of software that I would prefer to keep being able to use.

Texas gains on Cal in latest BCS
Texas is now only .0013 points behind Cal in the latest BCS poll released today. A loss or even a close win by them next weekend versus a crappy Southern Miss team could cause Texas to jump them and head to the Rose Bowl.

Windows Powered Treo for Dell?
Sounds a little like BS to me (and most everyone else too), but there are some rumors that Dell is pressing pressing palmOne to make a Pocket PC Treo. (via Gizmodo)

PS3 in 2006?
Seems there will be new news on the Sony's cell processor soon. The speculated schedule for the processor has people doing some second degree speculation and guessing the Playstation 3 will be targeted for release in 2006.

Jeopardy guy loses!
Ken Jennings, the Jeopardy guy,
is going down on November 30th. I guess I'm a little behind on this, Jason originally posted news of it way back in September. I probably wouldn't have guessed the correct answer, but his incorrect answer was WAY off.

Even Microsoft uses Firefox
Microsoft is showing off their new search engine and accidentally distributed a screenshot of them using Firefox with the story.
That's pretty freaking funny. (via Jeremy Flint)

Bright Corner is hiring
Holy crap! There's actually a really awesome looking web design, etc. company right in Plano. And they're hiring! I'm not at all qualified (yet), but it looks interesting and seems like they type of place I might want to work at someday. If you are qualified, check out their soon to be redesigned site.

He ranks Texas at number one and takes a shot at Bob Stoops. I don't know who Pete McEntegart is, but he's my new favorite writer.

Invasion of the Body Switchers
An alternative method based upon the original Style Switcher. The main upgrade is that it enables independent switching of different media types, meaning you can set up multiple screen and multiple print stylesheets and control them separately.
Seems pretty cool but the old method still looks more useful for me. I'll have to look into it a little more.
