The candidates on sports

November 02, 2004 at 01:53 PM

It may be too late to sway your vote, but check out where Bush and Kerry stand on sports-related issues such as steroids and Pete Rose.

There's a quote from Kerry claiming he was at the Red Sox vs. Mets game in `86 when the ball went through Buckner's legs. I remember hearing a report claiming it was impossible for him to have been there because there was proof he was in some place else that evening.

SportsNation Elections

November 02, 2004 at 01:47 PM

Okay, here's an election that actually matters. Vote on such crucial sports issues as whether MLB should have a salary cap and whether college athletes should be paid. Easily the most important decision you'll make today.

TiVo Season Pass Top 100

November 02, 2004 at 12:42 PM

A list of the top 100 programs that TiVo owners have Season Passes for, plus a list of the top 25 rated programs.

The shows on there that I've got on my list:

  • Lost
  • Joey (for Christina)
  • ER
  • Nip/Tuck
  • Scrubs
  • 24
  • The Simpsons
  • Sex and the City (reruns on TBS for C)
  • The Daily Show with Jon Stewart
  • Chappelle's Show
  • South Park
  • The OC

It's nice to see "Lost" doing so well, but it is kind of disheartening to see all the reality crap on there. The same morons out there that are watching "Survivor" are deciding today's election. Scary. (via PVRblog)

Meeting a User's Emotional Needs

November 02, 2004 at 09:40 AM

Another excellent article from DKR on how to meet all of a user’s needs and satisfy the goals of the business at the same time. He's a great designer but really seems to have a firm grasp of the business side of things as well.

Doggy seat belts

BMW has introduced car safety belts for dogs in Japan. I guess Japanese dogs are more important than ours, bastards.

Nintendo DS already sold out?

November 02, 2004 at 09:05 AM

IGN is reporting that GameStop has stopped pre-orders on the Nintendo DS. That's good news for me (if I actually receive the two I pre-ordered.) If the supply is that low and the demand is that high, I can screw soccer mom's willing to pay exorbitant amounts for the damn thing on eBay. (via Gizmodo)

Update: Joystiq is also mentioning it and even brings up my dastardly plan: "eBay-gouging".

Update 2: Well, that was short-lived. It appears they're taking preorders again now.

NBA opening night snafu

November 02, 2004 at 08:17 AM

Mark Cuban's thoughts on this year's Mavs team. Even more telling his thoughts on why the hell the NBA season is kicking off the same night as the election.

I won’t say what i really think about the genius that started the season on election day since it’s probably the same person that started the season on Halloween in previous years. There’s only a presidential election 1x every 4 years. We start on that day..Genius. Let’s see, which are going to get more highlights and press coverage Nov 3rd. The kickoff of the NBA season or the election. The NBA has a great idea to feature “Premiere Week” and we start it on Election Night. Brilliant.

iPod Photo problems?

November 01, 2004 at 08:16 AM

You know if MS did this kind of crap people would be screaming for the DOJ to break them up.

The new iPod Photo is just a 4G iPod with a color screen so it still suffers from the same audio glitch. So now not only is Apple pretending the glitch didn't exist and not recalling the defective units, but they're releasing a whole new product with the defect in it.

Luckily Christina's iPod doesn't appear to have the issue.
