I really need to try out Quicksilver, everyone raves about it and it looks pretty damn useful.

Hunt via the Internet

November 17, 2004 at 10:55 AM

This is pretty ridiculous. First off, how is it any freaking fun? Either hunt in person or in an actual video game, I'm sure that would provide a more entertaing experience.

As for the morality of hunting, obviously this remote hunting idea is completely screwy. But I generally don't have an issue with hunting for food. My family hunts, but I don't. That's mainly a laziness and hating the cold decision rather than a moral one. I do have issues with people who hunt purely for sport. Those that don't use the animal for food and those who hunt more exotic animals.

Nintendo to give away gold GBA SP's

November 17, 2004 at 08:17 AM

Stealing a gimmick "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory," Nintendo is giving away six gold GBA SP's to the people that find a golden ticket. Pretty cool looking and bound to sell for a pretty penny on eBay.

XML Resume Library

November 16, 2004 at 10:08 AM

Pretty cool way to take your resume and create a single XML file, and then use that as a source to create different formats of your resume. You can create HTML, PDF, and plain text output formats of your XML resume.

Halo 2 goes RSS

November 16, 2004 at 09:15 AM

Freaking sweet. Okay, it's only sweet if you're a complete nerd, but fortunately for me I am.

Bungie.net now gives you the option to access your personal Halo 2 stats via RSS. Now I can be constantly updated on how badly I suck.

Nintendo reacts to DS demand as orders rise

November 16, 2004 at 09:03 AM

Two million DS units have been pre-ordered and Nintendo is adding a third factory in order to meet demand, hopefully they fail.

Better plan? Make just two, and give them to me. (via Gizmodo)

Eli Manning to start for NY Giants

November 15, 2004 at 07:03 PM

Eli Manning has been named the starting QB for the New York Giants this week. I'm not sure why, if the offensive line could protect Kurt Warner at all he would be having a pretty decent season. All I care about is how this affect my fantasy team. Will they give Tiki Barber the ball more? Will teams gang up to stop the run and force the rookie to beat them. Damnit there are fantasy playoffs to consider here!

Latest BCS standings released

November 15, 2004 at 12:07 PM

Latest BCS standings are out and as expected Texas is screwed. Utah is sixth and Cal is fourth, therefore both would currently be guaranteed at-large spots and we would be left out.

A board compiled the Orangebloods.com staff to give a general idea of the prospects UT may be pursuing. Never any new news, but a good compilation of information.

Colin Powell resigns

November 15, 2004 at 10:18 AM

Secretary of State Colin Powell has resigned from his position in Bush's cabinet. I imagine there will be quite the uproar from the liberals, as I think he was one of the few Republicans they could stomach.

My completely baseless theory? Powell has intentions of running for the presidancy in 2008 and wants to be able stand on his own, and not be forever linked to George W. Bush. Four years away allows him to build support from Republicans and undecided voters alike.

Jack Thompson is a jackass

November 15, 2004 at 08:38 AM

This guy is pretty funny. He blames everything in this world on video games. Read his emails in this article along with Kotaku's first exchange with him, he talks in the third person and in one email uses all caps and centers everything as he rambles. Pretty hilarious.

Scrivs on the MSN Search beta

November 12, 2004 at 11:42 AM

I've seen several posts mention the new MSN Search beta that was released yesterday, this is the first to actually critique the design on it's visual elements and not just on technical issues. He particularly dislikes the buttons, which I had noticed too. The text seems to be too low in the button, or as he says the text is just too big or the button is too small.

Looking Around the Corner at CSS3

November 12, 2004 at 11:21 AM

Pretty cool example of what can already be done in CSS3 if you have a good browser. I think his examples of what you can do with substring matching attribute selectors and the opacity property are particularly cool.

Konfabulator does do Windows

November 11, 2004 at 10:31 AM

Pretty awesome software that I tried out on my Mac. It makes a lot more sense when using an "always-on" computer, which my isn't how I use my Powerbook. Great looking widgets that range from useful to silly. Definitely worth trying it out.

I have had an issue with it up here at work. I think some other software is screwing with it, but it is working without flaw at home.

3 new Xboxs?

November 11, 2004 at 08:52 AM

Interesting news. The dubious part is the first line:

A slide from a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) presentation seen by the INQ points towards Microsoft launching three versions of the Xbox 2, one of which is a fully functioning PC.

Ummmm... Why would information about the actual systems be included in the agreement? Would make more sense if it just said "Don't tell anyone about what you learn today." Or something like that.

Sony Vaio U-70

November 11, 2004 at 08:18 AM
Sony Vaio U-70

Damn this thing is sweet. Not overly practical but really freaking sweet. The U-70 has a 1.1GHz Pentium M processor, a 5-inch, 800 x 600 pixel LCD screen, 512MB of RAM, a 20GB hard drive, and built-in 802.11b/g WiFi. JK added a Bluetooth card and made the damn thing even more mobile and cool. Lots of good images to check out. (via Engadget)
