Sony officially announced the Playstation 3 tonight and specs, details, and images abound. Xbox unveiling on MTV is crap

May 12, 2005 at 09:03 PM

I know I shouldn't be surprised but the official Xbox 360 unveiling on MTV tonight was utter crap. Annoying b-list celebrities, personality-free professional gamers, very little game footage, and next to zero actual details on the system. The only details they mentioned about the 360 itself were that it'll have wireless controllers, changeable faceplates, and that it will be high-definition. If you want some real information, head on over to Kotaku or the barely... Continue reading

An ultimatum

May 10, 2005 at 08:42 PM

If Anthony Federov survives tomorrow I'm never watching American Idol again. Survives to the next round I mean, I guess I'm okay if he lives. P.S. Carrie, it's okay to move every so often while singing. P.P.S. Seriously people, don't pick the same exact some song. For the love of God people!... Continue reading

They are never showing another new episode of Lost

April 27, 2005 at 08:30 PM

Seriously, it's just rerun after rerun. Tonight the TiVo thought it was a new one and recorded it, so Christina and I sit down to watch it and sure enough, it's a brand new episode! Sorta. Not really. Okay, not at all. It was a never before seen episode consisting of clips of all the previous episodes. What a crock. If it wasn't for TiVo, I'd have moved on by now. I wonder how many... 'Fox Reality' to debut in May

April 04, 2005 at 02:47 PM

The apocalypse is officially upon us, Fox is debuting a 24-hour reality network. I guess it's essentially just like regular Fox except without The Simpsons, The O.C., or your local news. Or even new episodes of the one reality show I do watch, American Idol. Maybe they'll show less reality drivel on regular Fox, but I doubt we're that lucky. For once I'm glad I have Grande, I won't accidentally stumble onto this crap while... Continue reading

Unpacking the PSP

March 24, 2005 at 08:42 PM

I preordered the Sony Playstation Portable months ago, originally as a profit making scheme. But as the release date got closer, I wanted to keep it more and more. I'm glad I did, the thing is freaking sweet! The screen is absolutely gorgeous. The Spider-Man 2 UMD that came with it looks as good as a DVD on a regular television. Time to go play some Lumines! Check out the photoset or view the... Continue reading

Peerflix

February 26, 2005 at 10:36 AM

Peerflix is a movie trading service where you sign up and trade DVD's with other users rather than renting them from a central service. There's no monthly fee so you can use it as often or as little as you like, just pay $1 per trade. Each DVD in the system is assigned a Peerbux value, when you ship one of your DVD's you get Peerbux and when you receive one they cost Peerbux.... Continue reading

Super Bowl ads

February 06, 2005 at 11:56 PM

It was really a pretty weak year for Super Bowl ads. Nothing absolutely hilarious and definitely nothing you'd be laughing with your friends about for weeks to come. I blame Janet Jackson. Few of the ads took any risks and most were just generally uncreative. You can watch all of tonight's ads and the ones that didn't make the air over at IFILM's Super Bowl Showcase. Best commercial Neither of the two funniest commercials... Continue reading

American Idol is a sham

February 02, 2005 at 07:42 PM

American Idol is officially fake. Tonight one of the contestants called himself Christopher Noll, a 28 year old nanny. He loved the two little girls like they were his own. How touching. Well Mr. Noll made himself quite the spectacle, rapping instead of singing, dancing like a mad man, and rhyming things with Moesha for guest judge Brandy. It was pretty awful. Somehow Paula voted to move him on because he was the most original... Continue reading

Audioscrobbler

January 28, 2005 at 11:24 AM

The main idea of Audioscrobbler is that you use a plug-in with your music player of choice and tracks every song you play in their database. After they have a decent collection of data on you, it determines your neighbors and then you can listen to radio stations pulling from their collections. If you donate monthly (as little or as much as you want), you get extra features such as the ability to listen to... Continue reading

Review: Collateral

January 08, 2005 at 12:44 PM

Collateral was better than I thought it would be. I had my doubts about whether they could keep the plot going for the entire movie, but they manage to do it pretty well. Fortunately they actually kept the it reasonable that the cab driver didn't just drive off and leave the hitman. Jamie Foxx is the best character in the movie, Tom Cruise is more of an accessory. The main plot revolves around Cruise... Continue reading

Everyone else is doing it, so now I'm gonna start listing some of my Top 5's of 2004. Today I'm doing my top 5 movies of last year.
