Audioscrobbler

January 28, 2005 at 11:24 AM

The main idea of Audioscrobbler is that you use a plug-in with your music player of choice and tracks every song you play in their database. After they have a decent collection of data on you, it determines your neighbors and then you can listen to radio stations pulling from their collections. If you donate monthly (as little or as much as you want), you get extra features such as the ability to listen to your own collection from anywhere.

Not really using it too much, but it looks like it will be a cool service. I just signed up so right now I'm just letting the plug-in send what I'm playing all day and night, so that I'll have a decent library of songs. It doesn't appear to be able to get through the firewall here at work, so my home PC is just playing non-stop.

I'll post something more substantial once I've been using it for a while. Until then, sign up and add me as a friend so I can listen to your music.
