Tom Glavine in car accident

August 10, 2004 at 04:29 PM

ESPN.com is reporting that Mets pitcher Tom Glavine was injured in an autmobile accident on his way to LaGuardia Airport. The injuries are not "life threatening" but that's all that has been disclosed. I hope the guy is okay, always been one of my favorite players despite the way his time in Atlanta ended (not entirely his fault).... Continue reading

Short Ryan Perrilloux article

August 05, 2004 at 11:46 AM

Orangebloods.com has a short article on Texas commit Ryan Perrilloux that's viewable without a subscription. Pretty much says he's still very firm in his commitment to UT and that LSU was going to continue to recruit him. Not too much new, but everytime he reiterates his commit it makes me feel a little more confident.... Continue reading

Marcus Vick suspended entire season

August 03, 2004 at 11:55 AM

Mike Vick's little bro Marcus has been suspended for the entire 2004 season by Virginia Tech University. In May Vick and two teammates were convicted of getting two girls (ages 14 and 15) drunk and then having sex with them. Then last month he got high and then got behind the wheel. Smart kid. If you can't succeed with all the talent in the world and a rich and famous brother, you've got to be... Continue reading

Aggies: Always good for a laugh

July 28, 2004 at 10:29 AM

Texas A&M has been in trouble on the playing field the last several years, posting an excellent 4 - 8 record this past year. They got blown out again by Texas and absolutely mauled by Oklahoma. Oh and they had guys dancing on the field when down by 70 to OU, nice work Fran. With lots of free time on their hands (thanks to not making a bowl), they've decided to go out and get... John Kerry almost makes me root for the Yankees

July 26, 2004 at 08:41 AM

I really can't stand the Yankees. I mean, I completely despise them and everything they stand for. That was the case till I saw John Kerry's "surprise visit" to the Red Sox - Yankees game last night. Watching SportsCenter this morning and seeing Kerry dorkily and artificially high-fiving the Red Sox players really made me hope the Yankees would come back and win the game. He really looked out of place. I honestly think... Continue reading

Holy crap! Ricky Williams retires from NFL

July 25, 2004 at 10:53 AM

Wow, talk about a stunner. The Miami Herald and ESPN.com are reporting that Ricky Williams has told the Dolphins he plans to retire from pro football after just five seasons. He's going on a trip to Asia with a one-way ticket, so who know's if anyone will be able to talk him out of it. One interesting note in the whole story is that Ricky has been spending time this offseason with Robert Smith,... Continue reading

Lewis is a Longhorn

July 19, 2004 at 12:10 PM

Aaron Lewis has just verbally committed to the Texas Longhorns. Great news for the Longhorns especially coming in the wake of last week's news that Bryan Pickryl's injuries continue to plague him. Link: Orangebloods.com article... Continue reading

Aaron Lewis to announce commitment today

July 19, 2004 at 11:56 AM

The Texas Longhorns lost out on a bit time recruit this weekend when blue-chip quarterback Mark Sanchez chose USC over the Horns. Today at 11 MDT (when the hell is Mountain Time? Who lives in the mountains? Is it one hour after Central? So does that mean his press conference starts right now? I hate time zones.) New Mexico defensive end/linebacker Aaron Lewis will hold a press conference to announce his decision. It's down... Continue reading

Braves are in first place

July 16, 2004 at 09:15 AM

The Braves beat the Expos 8 - 0 last night, and the a little while later former Brave Roberto Hernandez botched a comebacker to lose the game for the Phillies 3 - 2 in extra innings. The Braves win combined with Philadelphia's loss means the two teams are now tied for first in the NL East. The NY Mets and Florida Marlins are both just one game back in what is easily the best... The French are at it again

July 15, 2004 at 11:13 AM

The good old French, they're just so much fun. First they accuse Lance Armstrong of doping because he keeps beating them, and now they're trying to break into his hotel room. If they can't prove he's on drugs, then why not just break in and plant some in his room? Makes sense to me. This isn't just you're average low-life either, this is the freaking French media doing this. Now that's a reputable news... Continue reading
