Holy crap! Ricky Williams retires from NFL
Wow, talk about a stunner. The Miami Herald and ESPN.com are reporting that Ricky Williams has told the Dolphins he plans to retire from pro football after just five seasons. He's going on a trip to Asia with a one-way ticket, so who know's if anyone will be able to talk him out of it.
One interesting note in the whole story is that Ricky has been spending time this offseason with Robert Smith, the former Minnesota Viking running back who also retired very early. Smith retired because football was only a part of what he wanted to do in life, he wanted to pursue more important things.
Maybe Ricky is done for good, maybe he's not. Either way, I and other Longhorn fans wish him the best and will miss seeing him on the field.
