Longhorn May Blend Tablet PC, Media Center

January 13, 2005 at 10:40 AM

Hopefully this is true, but it sounds like Microsoft is thinking about adding the Media Center and Tablet PC features into Longhorn. That would make having a Windows-based laptop very cool.

Tsunami man's two-week sea ordeal

January 12, 2005 at 01:27 PM

I can't figure out where he got the coconuts he says he survived on. Were they floating in the sea?

Getting the most out of MT-Blacklist

January 12, 2005 at 09:09 AM

I don't know how I didn't notice this post about MT-Blacklist sooner, I've subscribed to the RSS feed now so I won't miss new stuff again.

Great write up by Jay combining a ton of information about Blacklist that used to be scattered all over.

Mark Cuban thinks the media is looking really stupid with this whole Randy Moss Controversy. My sentiments exactly.

Sony PSP TV is coming

January 11, 2005 at 08:19 AM

Holy crap this is cool. Sony already released LocationFree TV, and now they're bringing the technology to laptops and the PSP. So you'll be able to stream television across your network to your PSP. That's incredible.

Turning a list into a navigation bar

January 10, 2005 at 11:12 AM

Nice write up of how to take an unordered list and turn it into a navigation bar. Pretty simple but there is some stuff in there that's also pretty easy to forget.

TiVo at CES

January 08, 2005 at 07:08 PM

PVRblog has a great write up on all the announcements TiVo has made at this week's CES.

Some more details on TiVoToGo but not nothing too new, what really interests me is the news on the standalone HDTivo. It'll have dual tuners and dual cable-cards (which means no need for a cable box), but isn't scheduled for release until 2006. Hopefully I'll have either moved by then or Grande will have burned to the ground.

Grande sucks.

iHome?

January 08, 2005 at 01:41 PM

Most people are assuming it's fake, but the idea kind of makes sense. Instead of just a headless iMac, why not release more of a home theater Mac for use in the living room?

The Gallery of Misused Quotation Marks

January 07, 2005 at 11:31 AM

One of my big pet peeves is people who use quotation marks incorrectly. It's really freaking annoying. The Gallery of Misused Quotation Marks is pretty damn funny.

Some favorites:

  • Road Work Ahead
  • Milk 1.99
  • Real bacon bits
  • Fresh fruit

Wow, look how close Dusty Mangum's game winning kick came to being blocked. I guess it was just meant to be.

There's a ton more fantastic images here.

Good news, bad news for local HD with DirecTV

January 06, 2005 at 03:40 PM

They're going to start offering local HD channels by the second half of this year, but it's using a different technology that will require a different receiver. Good thing I've put it off this long.

Grande sucks.
