House Hunting

August 02, 2005 at 09:23 PM

Christina and I have started to look into buying a house next summer and so we went last weekend and visited our first open house. We went to see some DR Horton homes up in McKinney and are pretty excited. We're still very early on in our search but we had a good time and learned a lot. For one thing, the neighborhood is almost as important the house. So many of those mid-level... Continue reading

I've been busy...

July 10, 2005 at 10:05 PM

Lots of stuff going on right now and the content throughout the site is getting a little neglected. I've been making a ton of little modifications to attempt to finish off the redesign. I've also started a new, exciting job at a web development company and so far I love it. We're also crazy busy planning our wedding, we even went to a bridal show this weekend. Hopefully we'll have some of the details... Continue reading

Coca-Cola Zero

June 19, 2005 at 07:38 PM

I've just discovered Coca-Cola Zero (man, I love Wikipedia). I saw it in the grocery store and despite not having a clue what it was or how it was different from the other 2,320 varieties of Coke or Diet Coke, I bought a 12-pack. They've come out out with Diet Coke with Splenda and Diet Coke with Lime in the last few months which are both about a thousand times better than regular Diet... Continue reading

Oh yeah one more thing...

May 18, 2005 at 07:18 PM

I conveniently left out one tidbit from my long story about our trip to New York... Christina and I are officially engaged. I've been writing this post since I finished that one I planned the whole thing about a month in advance, quite an accomplishment if I do say so myself. I had been thinking about proposing for a while and once Christina and I made plans to take a vacation to New York... Continue reading

Our trip to New York

May 10, 2005 at 11:13 PM

Well we've been home for almost two weeks and I’ve just now got the time and the energy to sit down and post about our trip to New York City. We did as many things we could in the five days we were in town and we took over a gigabyte of photos! I uploaded 266 photos to flickr and actually labeled and tagged them pretty well. I'll be sure to point out some... Continue reading

The Big Apple

April 27, 2005 at 10:02 PM

These are photos from our first ever trip to New York City this past weekend. We were there for five days and had a great time. We tried to do as much as possible without wearing ourselves out, and I think we did a pretty good job. We missed out on a few sites, but overall hit all the important spots. The photoset includes 266 photos from all over New York City. Times Square,... Continue reading

I gave my dog away this weekend

April 18, 2005 at 05:09 PM

Christina and I are going to New York City next weekend for five days. Since Reesey was going to have to be boarded for that time anyways, we decided to take her to Man's Best Friend. They do professional training as well as boarding, so we thought we'd get her five or six days of training while we were away. Wrong. The shortest stay (for training) at Man's Best Friend is 14 days. After... Continue reading

Malcolm Gladwell

March 13, 2005 at 03:09 PM

I just heard Malcolm Gladwell speak at SXSWi and I was immensely impressed. Very entertaining, interesting, and definitely thought-provoking. I'm going to try to pick up his new book Blink as soon as possible eventhough I already have a ton of reading I want to do. He also brought up a point that it's a good thing me all of us short people are either designers or actors, because we could never be CEO's.... Continue reading

I may miss teaching

March 08, 2005 at 05:22 PM

I had to give a demo at work today of an application we've been working on forever and I really enjoyed doing it. I think I may actually miss teaching. Let me clarify that last statement a little. I miss teaching, not being a teacher. Small but important difference there. I like explaining things to people, or maybe more accurately, telling other people what to do. I really enjoy sitting and having discussions about pretty... Continue reading
