I just heard Malcolm Gladwell speak at SXSWi and I was immensely impressed. Very entertaining, interesting, and definitely thought-provoking. I'm going to try to pick up his new book Blink as soon as possible eventhough I already have a ton of reading I want to do.
He also brought up a point that it's a good thing me all of us short people are either designers or actors, because we could never be CEO's. Apparently a disproportionately high number of them are 6'2" or taller.

oops, what is wrong here, I have been working as a designer for the last 10 years. But I am 6'5" or something.... Is my view of the world any different than that of the short designers that you mention. I think so :)
