April 30, 2004 at 09:13 PM

I got TiVo!

April 30, 2004 at 08:33 AM

Since I apparently have been rejected from three different jobs in the last two days, I decided to cheer myself up and buy electronics. So I went home and got all my Best Buy gift cards and certificates (50 bucks worth) and went down to the store and bought myself a TiVo DVR. I've been wanting one forever, but had always talked myself out of it. I had a TV tuner on my PC so... Continue reading

UMass student officially declared retarded

April 29, 2004 at 01:10 PM

A UMass student has declared his incompetance to the world with an opinion voiced in the UMass school newspaper, The Daily Collegian. His "column" criticizes Pat Tillman and mocks his death, using such hard-hitting journalistic facts as, "I could tell he was that type of macho guy, from his scowling, beefy face on the CNN pictures." It's never a good sign when you have to use the word "probably" a lot in your article. The... Continue reading

Strike one...

April 29, 2004 at 09:28 AM

It's only 9 a.m. and it's already been a pretty rough day. Just about every person, teacher and student, asks me if I heard about the jobs yet when they walk by. I tell them no, hadn't heard yet, but supposed to today. But that's a lie, I have heard I just don't want to tell them. I got the call from Whole Foods yesterday afternoon. I thought it was going to be good news,... Continue reading

There is a God!

April 28, 2004 at 08:31 PM

John Stevens was FINALLY voted off American Idol tonight. He's been a big red blemish on the show's chin since the beginning. He sounds like a mediocre 1950's lounge singer and dances like a drunk paraplegic. I vowed to never watch again if he had made it past tonight. He had a unique style that might have deserved to be in the like top 20, but there was no way he should have made... Continue reading

ESPN2: Hilarious article on Eli Manning

April 28, 2004 at 03:48 PM

This article is so funny, I'm not just gonna link to it I'm going to copy and paste the whole thing: With Eli Manning poised to dis the Chargers, someone needed to chronicle Draft Day for posterity, right? Noon: The draft kicks off as ESPN interns plug Mel Kiper Jr. into the nearest electrical outletDidn't Eli look thrilled holding up that Chargers jersey?12:04 p.m.: As Manning is jeered by New York fans, Chris Mortensen reports... I'm losing it...

April 28, 2004 at 11:31 AM

I'm checking my email every 2 minutes wondering if I'll hear any news on Whole Foods, Management Insights, or Periscope Holdings. I'm so worried I'll strike out on all three.... Continue reading

New virus outbreak?

April 28, 2004 at 11:26 AM

I've gotten two virus-infected emails at my UT address today within an hour of each other. One from someone I know but haven't spoken to in years and another from a random UT address. They were a little different but both had a lot of similarities in both the subject line and the body. Be on the lookout if you receive any emails with attachments (you should always be alert jackass!)... Continue reading

Review: Gothika

April 28, 2004 at 11:14 AM

Rating: 3.5/5Get it from Amazon.com! Very good movie. It wasn't really a horror movie like I was expecting, but more of supernatural thriller. That's a good thing. Halle Berry plays a psychologist at a prison/mental institution who suddenly wakes up as a patient at her own facility. She spends the whole movie trying to discover what's happened and convince people of her innocence. It's well acted, 90% of the movie is focused on Halle (not... Continue reading

I'm doing absolutely nothing at work

April 28, 2004 at 10:43 AM

I took the day off yesterday to go on my Whole Foods interview, I might as well have taken today off as well. Since I wasn't here yesterday, there wasn't a duty assigned to me. So this morning I haven't done a damn thing. TAKS testing is going on until 11:30 am so I've graded every last paper that I put off for the last 4 weeks. Plus listened to ESPN Radio, read half of... Austin company sues over JPEG patent

April 28, 2004 at 09:43 AM

An Austin company is suing just for shits and giggles over their supposed owning a patent over an algorithm used in the JPEG image format. It seems the company has no real plans or products, just a plan to sue the pants off everyone. The company has actually scared enough people into handing over $90 million (including $16 mil from Sony.) It's the same idea that SCO used to sue company's based on their Linux... Continue reading
