MS Access sucks
Scrivs reads an article on Microsoft Access vs MySQL. Then he gets mad that no one ever considers PostgreSQL and that the article comparing the two databases goes to pot after a page or two and turns into an advertisement for some product.
Anyways, Access sucks!

Sony PSP images
Damn this thing looks sweet. It's going to cost a buttload, but it's styling and power make me drool.
Buy me one please!

Final Nintendo DS Box
Nothing too exciting, just an image and story about the final retail packaging of the Nintendo DS. Also a suggested retail price of $149.99 was announced, which is big news because rumors are the Sony PSP will be between $300 and $350. Damn the PSP looks sweet though.

Astros have wild-card lead
Astros won last night to sweep the Cardinals, while the Cubbies and Giants both lost. What does that mean? Well, the Astros now have a half game lead in the National League wild-card race with only four games to go.
Bad news for me and the Astros? If the Astros do win, they'll likely play the Braves in the first round of the playoffs.

Indians pitcher shot
No one was seriously hurt, but pitcher Kyle Denney had to have a bullet removed from his calf by trainers when someone fired on the Cleveland Indians' team bus.
I'm sure if one of the players had tried to tackle the shooter in defense, MLB would have suspended him at least eight games.

Kobe's still a POS
Man, is Kobe Bryant an a-hole or what? New reports have him just flat out rolling over on Shaq, claiming he paid off his women all the time.

PodUtil
Another iPod utility for copying songs from you iPod to your computer. What makes this one stand out is that it compatible with both PC and Mac, and also that it also can rebuild your playlists for you. There has been at least three times when my PC reset my library and I lost all my playlists and ratings (over 1,000 of them!)

UNC punter steals flash drives
The University of North Carolina has sucked at football since Mack Brown left, and now they're kickers are stealing from Wal-Mart. Man, they've really fallen on hard times. What kind of jackass tries to steal a bunch of USB flash drives, they're not that valuable and everyone who wants one has one.
Moron.

Synergy
Wow.
Open-source software that allows you to "easily share a single mouse and keyboard between multiple computers with different operating systems, each with its own display, without special hardware."
It even lets you copy and paste from system to the other. Simply amazing and it appears to work as advertised.
Check out some demo videos of the software at work here.

Penny Arcade takes a shot at Tiger Woods' recent career troubles, but only one of them gets the joke.

color synthAxis
A pretty advanced web-based color picking tool. So advanced that right now I really don't know what I'm doing with it, I need to read the manual more thoroughly. Definitely pretty cool and even just refreshing the page a bunch of time comes up with some nice looking color combinations.

Get Fuzzy
This is just a really funny comic starring a guy and his cat and dog. I've been reading via RSS for about a month now and it's almost always good.
Today's (9/23) is particularly funny as the cat tries to curse the owner's beloved Red Sox.

The Incredibles trailer
This movie looks like it's going to be hilarious, all the trailers have been great. This one is funny as hell and it's a high-quality Quicktime file too.

Fat Fingers
Fat Fingers searches eBay for common misspellings of terms. Why is that a good thing? Because if the seller can't spell, no buyers can find the item and you can possibly get a very good deal.

Braves' magic number: 3
The Braves won last night and are one step closer to winning their 13th straight division title. Any combination of three wins by the Braves or three losses by the Florida Marlins clinches the title.

Winslow injury costly to wallet too
Now this make the hilarious injury to Kellen Winslow Jr. even funnier: "All Winslow had to do was participate in 35 percent of the Browns' offensive plays and he qualified for two sets of bonuses that would have given him $5.3675 million in 2005."

Sony PStwo announced
New slimmer Playstation 2 was announced that'll be essentially exactly like the original but much smaller. It appears to be about one fourth as thick and two thirds as wide. It really is tiny.

CBS misled?
CBS is shirking the blame for the apparently forged memos challenging President Bush's military service. PowerlineBlog was one of the first places to challenge their veracity and now that the pressure has mounted on them, CBS is claiming they were misled about their authenticity.

ifoundsomeofyourlife
Guy gets in taxi. Guy loses Compact Flash card. Another guy gets in taxi. Other guy posts all 227 of you photos in his blog, complete with stories.
Hilarity ensues.
Update: Apparently the site owner has buckled under the pressure. He has pulled the site's content in fear of legal action (but not from the actual memory card owner). I hate lawyers.

Kobe free, still a scumbag
Wow. This is the transcript of an interview between Kobe Bryant and Eagle County PD just one night after the incident. Kobe comes out of it looking pretty bad.
To sum it up: Kobe's cheated multiple times. He tried to buy his way out of trouble. He likes it rough. He wanted to have anal sex with her but she declined.

Firefox 1.0PR review
ExtremeTech reviews the latest release of Firefox and comes away very impressed.
I've been running version 1.0PR all week and haven't had any issues. Stability has been good and there are several new features. No major new stuff for me (built in RSS reader called Live Bookmarks) and a few of my plugins no longer work (Bloglines notifier for one), but I'm sure they'll be updated soon.

Crapping can be hazardous to your health
Heather Armstrong is one damn funny woman. Her site Dooce.com is filled with funny stories of her life, and there's a ton of heartwarming stuff mixed in there too.
This story isn't even from her own life, but of her cousin's. But DAMN is it funny. Must read.

iPodDownload
It's simple to copy songs off your iPod and onto a PC and there's a few programs that'll do this for a Mac, but this plugin looks like the simplest way to do it yet. Here's the original site, and the new mirror that had to be put up because Apple bitched.

Insurance company won't pay Lance
Wow, talk about low class. A Dallas insurance company was supposed to pay Lance Armstrong five million bucks for winning his sixth Tour de France. Well now they're balking at paying the money, due to the baseless claims that Lance used performance-enhancing drugs.
Nice work morons.

Energizer Quick Switch Flashlight
The Quick Switch takes two C, D or AA batteries and works by merely adjusting a switch to the proper cell size, automatically locking the batteries into place. The light output is the same no matter the cell size, though operating time will vary.
There really seems to have been some pretty cool technology with flashlights in the last year or so, such as the Energizer Flashlight/Nightlight.
