Fantastic. Absolutely hilarious and a really smart comedy. Not perfect, some scenes were a lot less funny or long than I'd thought they could've been, but probably the most fun I've had watching a movie in a long time.

Katie Holmes is such a mediocre actress.

Really good mindless action. The Funky Bunch, Tyrese, Andre 3000, and Garrett Hedlund actually come off as brothers who care about each other and might truly be pissed about what happened to their mother. Some good twists and maybe not the best plot but one you want to follow to the end.

Terrence Howard is good again in a very small role.

Funny movie. Came highly recommended and definitely was good for a few laughs. Pierce Brosnan is perfect in the part of a washed up assassin and just is a guy who can't cut it anymore. Funny and a little wacko he and Greg Kinnear make a great team as a hitman and a business man.

Probably worthy of a rental when it comes out at the end of April.

Great movie and definitely deserving of all the praise it's received. I really didn't know a ton of the story, certainly not the June Carter end of things. Joaquin Phoenix was great and Reese Witherspoon was wonderful and adorable.

Not perfect but much better than most of the reviews claim. Kirsten Dunst is cute in it (it's kind of hit and miss with her lately) and Orlando Bloom played his first role that he wasn't a complete woman. Good random conversations between the two of them but the ending was really crap.

Christina and I had our Valentine's dinner last night, so tonight was romantic movie night. I think I'm getting to the point where I own and love every John Cusack movie ever made, though about half of them fall into this romantic comedy/date movie mold they're all great.

I think my thought process when flying comes from watching this movie when I was (much) younger, as soon as the Fasten Seatbelts light/sound goes off you're safe. I wonder if there's any truth to that at all.

Ding.

Really, really good. Terrence Howard was absolutely fantastic and even Anthony Anderson does a good job in a supporting role. I kind of wish the movie had been another 20 minutes long and they'd gone into things at the end a little better. Great music and a great movie.

NFL Conference Championship games

January 22, 2006 at 07:38 PM

This pair of games is usually better than the Super Bowl football-wise, but both games today have been pretty boring. Pittsburgh handled Denver easily and made Jake Plummer look like Arizona Cardinal Jake Plummer. Now in the NFC title game Seattle is blowing out Carolina early in the 3rd quarter.

Yawn...

24: Day 5

January 10, 2006 at 06:56 PM

I'm giving 24 another try this season and so far it's been a good decision. First four hours have been great, though in the last episode they started with the interoffice penis measuring they do every season. Really pisses me off that they somehow think office politics in the middle of a national crisis is just as important/interesting as the action and finding out who the bad guy is.

Some parts were severely lacking and there were some major plot points that were just glossed over but a pretty good movie overall. Much better than I thought it would be when I saw the first trailers back in the day. Naomi Watts was great and Jack Black was too, but I have a hard time forgetting that he's Jack Black regardless of his performance.
