Take that you domain stealing bastards

August 02, 2004 at 01:42 PM

I've been getting more and more more interested in the business of web design lately, so last week I decided to look for a possible new domain name. I wanted an address that could be focused on design and my (currently non-existent) portfolio, so that this address could remain more personal. I was hoping for something to find a decent company name that would also have an available .com web address. I know I don't... Continue reading

Can you tell I want one yet?

July 21, 2004 at 10:12 PM

PC Magazine has a short article saying pretty much nothing, certainly nothing new. But they did apparently get their hands on the new iPod and were gracious enough to take a few shots of the thing with all the rest of the iPod family. I really don't know what I learned in school, because when I heard it was only going to be one millimeter thinner I didn't think much of it. But looking at... Continue reading

Another reason to hate Duke

July 20, 2004 at 12:02 PM

When I got to UT I received several crappy t-shirts and stole like half a dozen UTLD plastic cups, other than that I got bupkis. Sure some say you pick a college based on things like educational reputation, faculty to student ratio, and cost. But we all know we want to attend the school where you can get the best free crap. As if being consistently a Final Four team in basketball wasn't enough,... Continue reading

iPod upgrade official

July 18, 2004 at 12:43 PM

There's been a ton of rumors in the last couple weeks about the next generation of iPods. Most of the speculation assumed only minor upgrades, bringing several of the advances from the iPod mini into the larger player. Well Steve Jobs announces in a Newsweek article that for the most part the rumors were true. The fourth-generation of iPods will be released this week and be only slightly smaller (one millimeter), have the mini's... Continue reading

Penny Arcade knows my pain

June 24, 2004 at 03:42 PM

I don't really mind most of the time, I like talking about computers. But sometimes my family/friends can have especially retarded tech support questions. Well, PA knows my pain.... Continue reading

Terrifying and intriguing

June 09, 2004 at 12:12 AM

The new M3Power razor by Gillete is both scary as hell and cool at the same time. Everthing else I own has batteries, I guess my razor can too. But it kinda disturbs me that those three sharp blades are vibrating and I'm supposed to be touching my face with this. I've had trouble finding out exactly how the damn thing works, even from Gillete's website. Gizmodo mentions a review of the thing that... Continue reading

John Kerry > Aunt Jemima

May 24, 2004 at 06:36 PM

No longer is Aunt Jemima's name synonymous with waffles and pancakes. Google search "waffles" and the first site that appears is a link to John Kerry's official site. Wired News talks about the situation and about Google-bombing in general. It's amazing the power a group of bloggers has, yet I still have trouble getting Brian Behrend to freaking point to me. (This site is approximately number 18!)... Continue reading

HP Photosmart 945

May 18, 2004 at 12:13 PM

After about 30 minutes on Ground Glass and 45 minutes looking at camera reviews, I couldn't resist NewEgg's price for the HP Photosmart 945. It has gotten really good user reviews and has awesome specs, I figured what the hell. After all, I'm getting two paychecks this summer.... Continue reading

This is why I want a new camera

May 18, 2004 at 08:50 AM

I've been looking at a lot of digital cameras lately (in the $500 range and 4 or 5 MP with at least 8x optical zoom), and this guy's site is one of the reasons why. I know he's taking a lot of his shots with fancy SLR cameras, but he took all the shots here with a Nikon Coolpix 4500 digital camera which is about the range I'm looking at. It's all about the... Sexual equality

How come when a man and a woman get engaged, the man has to pay thousands of dollars for this: I think when you get engaged, guys should get this: Or maybe this:... Continue reading

ExtremeTech: GMail preview

May 06, 2004 at 10:33 AM

A glowing review of GMail from ExtremeTech. They are very positive about it's features and ease of use, and only a few things they disliked (hopefully which will be fixed by the time of the finished product.) I'll probably be signing up when it's released.... Continue reading

WinHEC 2004: Concept PCs

May 05, 2004 at 08:32 PM

There is some amazing stuff around the corner in the PC industry, hopefully something great enough to boost the IT industry and get me a damn job. The WinHEC (Windows Hardware Engineering Conference) is going on and both Microsoft and HP are showing some pretty cool stuff. Several of the pics are just mock-ups, but it's worth checking out. ExtremeTech has 20 pictures up of stuff like the Windows Home concept PC, the HP Hermes,... Continue reading
