EA Sports NFL Head Coach

October 19, 2005 at 07:19 PM

My favorite part of Madden is all the franchise-related stuff anyways, so this new coach simulation from EA Sports is definitely interesting. If they do enough with the playbook and let you design actual plays (in depth) and schemes it'll be something I give a look to.

Available in Spring 2006.

Note to anyone who reads this, rented NFL Head Coach over the last two weeks and the game is a freaking bore. Very disappointing.

I have really enjoyed this game and invested a lot of time into managing my team through my first season. Very different from other football video games in that success has nothing to do with your ability to work the controller.

I highly recommend it. Those that enjoy controlling the movements of players won't like this game as much as other football games. Those that prefer the GM activities and strategic coaching elements will love it.

Alan, didn't managing all the office hours drive you nuts?

I enjoyed managing the roster and coaching staff and coaching games, but dealing with office hours and stuff like only being able to call two agents during a time slot got real old real fast. Ruined the game for me. Though they've got a good base and definitely could do something good with a sequel or integrated with Madden 2008.
