Congress to subpoena Sosa, McGwire, others

March 09, 2005 at 08:24 AM

Seven current and former major leaguers will be subpoenaed by a congressional committee to testify about steroids. Jose Canseco, Mark McGwire, Jason Giambi (see my conspiracy theory on the A's), Curt Schilling, Sammy Sosa, Rafael Palmeiro, and Frank Thomas will all be called to testify about steroids in front of the House Government Reform Committee. At first I didn't see the importance in this, but after listening to a lawyer on the Mike &... Continue reading

I hate politicians and the ACLU

February 16, 2005 at 07:39 AM

How is running a red light and endangering everyone around you some sort of inalienable right? Right now there is a bill going to the Texas House of Representatives that would prohibit cities from using cameras to cite people who run red-lights. The bill is expected to pass easily. It appears to be a battle between the state and city governments as much as anything else. The cities already can't do anything criminally because state... Continue reading

Toy soldier taken hostage

February 02, 2005 at 08:54 AM

Nice work by Islamic militants to capture one of our most important soldiers, Special Ops Cody. GI Joe, He-Man, and Strawberry Shortcake have all been taken to an undisclosed location for their safety. Unfortunately the Secret Service got to Barbie's Dream Home a little too late.... Bush's inauguration and Satanic gestures

January 20, 2005 at 04:31 PM

I have absolutely zero interest in all the pomp and circumstance that surrounds events such as the presidential inauguration today. Saying that, it's always nice to see the President of the United States of American throwing up the horns on the front page of several national media outlets websites. Is Texas going to be the first school with two presidential libraries, or is he going to put it at SMU? Update: Holy crap this... Continue reading

Lawmaker wants BMI listed on report cards

January 19, 2005 at 02:30 PM

This may be the dumbest idea I've seen in a while, Texas Democratic state Sen. Leticia Van de Putte want to put students' body mass index on report cards: Texas school districts would be required to include the body mass index of students as part of their regular report cards under a bill introduced Tuesday by a lawmaker seeking to link healthy minds with healthy bodies. Most parents don't even give a crap about their... Continue reading

Andrea Yates' conviction overturned

January 06, 2005 at 12:13 PM

Andrea Yates' murder conviction was overturned. She drowned three of her children and was chasing the other two around the house in an attempt to kill them too. For some reason the state's expert psychiatric witness thought it would be okay to completely fabricate an episode of Law and Order. Apparently he was dense enough to believe no one would find out. I can't image why he did that, after the shock of what she... Continue reading

Post-election anti-Bush rally

November 05, 2004 at 11:36 AM

Here are some photos from an anti-Bush rally that took place in San Francisco on November 3rd. Some of these are pretty shocking and offensive. Why don't some of these people understand that all they're doing is driving some undecided people towards the right? As a moderate American, would you want to be associated with people who thought like this or this. There was also vandalism and violence (by a minority of the protestors),... Continue reading

Internet scammers act fast

November 03, 2004 at 12:16 PM

The web is an interesting place. The election was just last night and Ohio came to the forefront late, but already there are lowlifes out there trying to profit from it. There's no issue out there too sensitive that people won't try to make a buck off of these days. After September 11th we were flooded with patriotic t-shirts and catchy bumper stickers and now with the war in Iraq we can "Support Our... Continue reading

None of the above

October 02, 2004 at 01:17 PM

I'm tired of politics. John Kerry has no opinion and everyone thinks George Bush's opinions is wrong. So I'm going to try to tune it all out till after November. I'm getting all my news from Jon Stewart. Like GW? Then this is absolutely hilarious: The Ultimate John Kerry Ad John Kerry fan? Then you should watch this: Whitehouse West... Continue reading

What does John Kerry stand for?

September 23, 2004 at 01:52 PM

I've got no idea what John Kerry's opinion on anything is. Does he have plans for this country? Does anyone know what they are? Everything out of his mouth is "Bush did this wrong" or "I wouldn't have done it that way," but I've never heard him say "We should do it this way." Does he have any clue what he's going to do if he actually wins the damn thing?... Continue reading

More abductions in Iraq

September 16, 2004 at 08:16 AM

Two Americans and a Britain were kidnapped by gunmen Thursday. I have so many problems with this, enough is enough. What in the hell are civilians still during in this freaking country? Get the hell out and get the hell out now. There's no reason good enough. If your job sent you, find another job. The place is a crap hole and a death trap, especially if you're a freaking American. How many people have... Continue reading
