Massive comment spam attack coming?

November 20, 2005 at 07:01 PM

This site gets a ton of comment spam on a daily basis, but fortunately Movable Type Version 3.2's built in security features completely block about 95% of it and allow me to moderate the rest. Lately, I've gotten several messages a day that seem tobe harmless and pointless: I've managed to save up roughly $88847 in my bank account, but I'm not sure if I should buy a house or not. Do you think the... Continue reading

Firefox 1.5 for Mac sucks

November 19, 2005 at 05:17 PM

Pretty much every beta and all three release candidates of Firefox 1.5 have crashed constantly on my PowerBook. I'd like to be able to use the same browser while on either a PC or a Mac, but this is unacceptable. What's really bad is that one of this release's main additions is better support for Mac OS X. The several crashes per hour (and often even more frequently) have most likely driven me to Safari.... Continue reading

My ten favorite facts about Chuck Norris

November 17, 2005 at 10:22 PM

There are a lot of things you don't know about Chuck Norris... The chief export of Chuck Norris is pain. Chuck Norris' tears cure cancer. Too bad he has never cried. Rather than being birthed like a normal child, Chuck Norris instead decided to punch his way out of his mother's womb. Shortly thereafter he grew a beard. Chuck Norris frequently signs up for beginner karate classes, just so he can accidentally beat the shit... Continue reading

I am too attractive for Mischa Barton

November 07, 2005 at 09:58 PM

Apparently, Mischa Barton likes unattractive guys. Really, really ugly dudes. I mean not just ugly, but creepy and homeless ugly. Did I mention that she has bad taste in men? Though I'd need to stop getting hair cuts or bathing or going to the gym if I wanted a shot, I'd probably still have to pass since she annoys the heck out of me on The O.C.... Continue reading

Texas at Baylor

November 05, 2005 at 09:37 PM

Christina and I woke up nice and early and headed down to Waco to see the Horns play Baylor. Very good game if you're a Texas fan, but it was a little boring at times. Texas rolled them 62 to nothing in a game I was actually a little nervous about at the start. The Bears have been anemic on offense all year, but their defense is stout and after last week you never... Continue reading

How in the world do you do this?

November 04, 2005 at 09:41 PM

Had to get some cash for tomorrow's trip to Waco to watch the Horns play and saw some complete moron at Bank of America who looked like he hit the pole going like 35 miles an hour. Somehow his bumper was wrapped all the way back around it as well. Nice work genius.... Continue reading

TiVo debuts Overlap Protection

November 03, 2005 at 06:23 PM

TiVo has debuted an unfortunately needed new feature with their latest service update: In the past, if two of your favorite shows overlapped by a minute or two, you could only record one or the other. Now, with Overlap Protection, your TiVo box can record both shows back-to-back by clipping just enough from the end of the first show or the beginning of the second show, based on which has the higher Season Pass priority...
