June 13, 2005 at 08:54 AM

A video to run on your PSP if you have stuck pixels. I need to try it out when I get home.

This does NOT work. At least, it does not work for my new 8ms 19" Gigabyte LCD.

Being a software developer, I wrote my own program that also helps to identify the pixels (clicking on them highlights them within a circle, which can be saved to BMP), with different colour modes, and wrote my own colour flashing routine.

It did nothing. I've left it running for two nights in a row, and nada. Zip. Zilch. It does not work.

Yeah, the general consensus is that sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't. Do you have dead pixels or stuck pixels? This is only for stuck, there's nothing you can do about dead ones.

Shouldn't there be some way for Sony to come out with a program to upload to your psp that goes into the basic hardware memory and resets it so even dead pixels are fixed?

No, the stuck pixels have nothing to do with the memory in the PSP. They are faults in the screen itself.

all i can say is that sony needs to fix this problem quick. I ran this program for over 2 hours and had no success at all. If you have over 20 dead pixels i suggest you contact sony
