Aggies suck

September 22, 2005 at 09:10 PM

The Aggies are only up by 6 and the half is almost over. Bobcats are driving too and will take the lead if they score. Aggies have gotten several turnovers and big plays but have only put 20 on the scoreboard. Plus they can't stop the mighty Texas State offense either. I predict Texas A&M wins 45 to 31.

I know like at least 5 people on the Texas State roster and a member of the coaching staff. A guy I played with is dominating the formidable Aggy defensive line.

By the way, the Aggy radio announcers (who are doing the TV for this game) are terrible and have no idea what's going on half the time.

Invasion pilot

September 21, 2005 at 10:43 PM

Show looks good after one episode. Looks like another show I'll have to watch every week so I don't miss anything. It's like Lost but with aliens. Read the link if you want a decent show synopsis.

Lost season premiere

September 21, 2005 at 10:39 PM

Great premiere. Revealed a lot of the stuff left hanging from last season but not everything. We see inside the hatch is quite elaborate, and pretty high tech for about 20 years previous (when the people were supposedly stranded.) Jack somehow knew the guy running things down there.

Crash

Enjoyed it for the most part, but it was a little over the top. Plus every 5 seconds people would say completely racist things right to other peoples' faces. In today's society, racism is still prevalent but it's much more under the surface. Seemed far fetched. Plus the coincidences that repeatedly tied the many characters together were unbelievable.

Not any NFL games

September 18, 2005 at 05:11 PM

Philadelphia and San Francisco? Houston and Pittsburgh? Green Bay and Cleveland? Those were my choices of NFL games to watch this afternoon. Complete crap. The first two were complete blowouts between teams I couldn't care less about, and the third one was a close but boring game between teams I couldn't care less about.

I need NFL Sunday Ticket.

Rice at Texas

September 17, 2005 at 09:07 PM

Texas didn't play great but they still blew out the Rice Owls 51 to 10. We'll need to play better in two weeks when we face Mizzou.

Donnie Darko

Really good movie that a ton of people had been recommending to me. Glad I finally got around to it because I really enjoyed it. Dark but enjoyable humor, wonderful storyline, and not at all predictable.

One of the few movies I watched and then burned to DVD, it's definitely worth watching again.

The Constant Gardener

I absolutely hated the first hour or so. It was incredibly boring and I wanted to punch Rachel Weisz's character in the face, I couldn't wait for her to die.

Preachy.

NFL season opener in HD

September 08, 2005 at 08:55 PM

Finally some real life football in HD. I thought I was going to be able to watch some college games last weekend but there weren't any games on (though supposeduly the Miami at FSU was). At least I'll be able to watch two or three NFL games a week with beautiful clarity.

The O.C. season premiere in HD

September 08, 2005 at 07:45 PM

My biggest problems with soap operas (which is what The O.C. really is) is that so many of the characters are pure evil, for no apparent reason. Jeri Ryan was barely in this episode, but it was clear that she'll cause some sort of trouble just for fun soon. It really annoys me.

Overall a good start to the new season and the first season I'll be watching in high-definition.

Sahara

Not all that good but a mindlessly entertaining movie. The plot is pretty much ridiculous overall and so are most of the plot twists, but there's a ton of good action sequences. Penelope Cruz is really miscast, as she is in any movie in which she's asked to speak English, as a doctor with the World Health Organization (WHO).

It's not good, but I enjoyed it.

Texas vs. ULaLa

September 03, 2005 at 08:58 PM

Saturday night the Longhorns faced the University of Lousiana-Lafayette in the first game of the 2005 college football season. They played well and won easily, 60 - 3. I live blogged the game over on Bevo Sports.
