Howie Day - Collide

January 06, 2005 at 04:04 PM

I heard him perform live on either Letterman or Leno last night and the song Collide was awesome. Jessica was raving about him all last year, but she's a hippy liberal so I ignored her.

If I buy one of his albums off of iTunes, which should I buy?

Beat OU

January 06, 2005 at 09:03 AM

I know I can't really control the outcome of this much, but hell it's a good goal to have. Texas hasn't beaten OU since my freshman year in college. I can't decide whether my attendance is good or bad luck.

I went in 1999 and we won 38-28, didn't go in 2000 and we lost 14-63, went in 2001 and lost 3-14, went in 2002 and lost 24-35, didn't go in 2003 and lost 13-65, and went this year and lost 0-12.

So I guess I am good luck, just not enough of it.

The Bourne Supremacy

Rating: 3.5/5

Pretty good movie, about as good as the first. Good action and plotline, although this one was more predictable. There was next to zero character development, so if you didn't see the first movie you would think this one sucked. They should have made a little more effort to further expand on who Bourne was.

Get lasik

January 03, 2005 at 09:02 PM

Okay it scares the ever living shit out of me, but it's something I want to get done eventually. I might hold out till insurance companies decide to pay for it, but I don't see that happening anytime soon. I want to get it done by then end of 2006 at least.

Exercise 3x a week

January 03, 2005 at 07:35 PM

This is one goal I've actually been good at in my life. Except for the middle two years of college I've exercised pretty regularly since about middle school, but I do go through lulls. I want to exercise at least three times a week and do it every single week.

No excuses.

Run a marathon

January 03, 2005 at 07:19 PM

Okay, running a marathon is a waaaaaaaaaaay off in the future goal, but it really is something that I've been thinking about the last couple of months.

I think the furthest I've ever run in one shot was six miles back in the 7th grade and my knees and shins and feet killed me today just running one mile at the gym, but I think if I get better running shoes and run outdoors instead of on the treadmill it won't be so bad.

Like I said, it's a long term goal.

Aaron Taylor is a meathead

January 03, 2005 at 07:04 PM

What was ABC thinking hiring this guy as a studio personality? He never has anything intelligent to say and it's painful to watch him speak. During the Rose Bowl the most thought provoking thing he said was What's up with the cheerleaders?!

I miss Tommy Bowden.

Save money

January 03, 2005 at 03:31 PM

Always a good goal. I've been doing real well saving to my 401k but I need to save more actual money. I want to be more liquid. You never what might come up that I'll need some extra dough for. Car, trips, rings. Who knows?

Stop procrastinating

January 03, 2005 at 12:57 PM

Stop procrastinating is on my list of Things to do every single January. And although I've gotten better, I'm still pretty bad about putting things off. Maybe this year I'll actually get around to it.

Procrastination: Hard work often pays off after time, but laziness always pays off now

Take more pictures

January 03, 2005 at 12:53 PM

One of my New Year's Resolutions is to take more pictures this year. I took a lot of pictures of Reesey last year, but it would be nice to have a more well rounded photoblog and have more pictures of me and Christina too.

Fellowship of the Rings

That was the first time I've watched the movie in ages, plus that was the regular version on a laptop. I finally got to sit down and watch the full extended edition this weekend and it was great. The picture on my TV and the surround sound were awesome. Great freaking movie.

Now I've started watching the first disc of extras, only seven more hours of movie and like fourteen hours of extras to go and I'll be completely done!

Pretty hilarious movie. Christina and I watched it on Saturday night instead of that bore that was the Fiesta Bowl.

It was lame and over the top in all the right ways, and Vince Vaughn was fantastic as usual. It may have the world's best ending featuring an awesome Christine Taylor moment. She should be in a movie without her husband once in a while.

The Rose Bowl

January 01, 2005 at 03:30 PM

The Granddaddy of Them All will be a huge game for the Texas program. I'm sure I'll be excited/nervous/naseaous the entire game.

Update: Amazing game. Horns win! Some links.
