Great take on the Cal Rose Bowl whining

December 07, 2004 at 01:30 PM

These aren't my words, but it's the best thing I've read on the whole Cal deserves to go to the Rose Bowl and Texas doesn't topic. From SynTex on Hornfans (via D-smoo on Orangebloods): The Pac 10 commish, the Cal coach, and many others are harping on some of the voting patterns that may have tainted the BCS. Let's talk about it. Let me take item by item some of the problems that have been... Continue reading

Halo 2 and MS Excel

December 06, 2004 at 10:11 PM

I could've swore I mentioned it already, but apparently not. I did at least mention Halo 2's RSS stat feed. Well some dude came up with an Excel workbook to integrate the XML feed Bungie provides and create some sweet charts of the data. Sony, Ken Jennings, and Kottke

December 02, 2004 at 12:01 PM

This is a freaking travesty. Jason Kottke didn't do anything differently than the Washington Post did, but Sony is suing him because they can. He's not even the one who leaked the information or who made the audio tape, he just reported it. Read more backstory here. Anil said everything much better than I could here and especially here. I posted a link to it too, Sony want to sue me too?... Continue reading

Jason Giambi admits to injecting steroids

December 02, 2004 at 08:25 AM

From the San Francisco Chronicle: Jason Giambi admitted to a federal grand jury he took steroids and human growth hormone in 2003, according to transcripts of (grand jury) testimony... And... ...the former American League MVP told the grand jury investigating the Bay Area Laboratory Co-Operative steroids case he used steroids obtained from Greg Anderson, the personal trainer for San Francisco Giants star Barry Bonds. They need to do something about this before Bonds breaks Hank... Continue reading
