Pardon my dust...

July 05, 2005 at 10:24 PM

In case you didn't notice, this site is currently undergoing some cosmetic changes. Not really a redesign (though it took me long enough!), but more of a retouch. Cleaned up all the graphics and a lot of the code, and just gave everything a more polished look.

Unfortunately, I had to slightly alter the HTML in a couple places (added an extra div around the main section and gave a div in the sidebar boxes a class) so I'm having to go through a ton of templates and make the updates. I think I got to all of them on the main weblog and the links section, but there's still some more to get to tomorrow night.

There's still a little more design work left to be done as well. While the CSS worked perfectly in the nice controlled testing environment, now that it's live it's apparent some tweaks need to be made. Sometimes there are gaps in the sidebars, sometimes the bottom of a section is overlapping the main portion, and several more little things. Plus, I need to redo the icons for the sidebar to reflect the new look. Like I said, lots of little changes.

Anyways, I hope you like the new BrianBehrend.com Version 3.5. Please let me know what you think and make sure to comment if you see any egregious errors.

Looks sweet. Bout time dood. FYI, the google ads are overlaying the "Posted by" footer.

I like the black gradients. The footer looks awesome!

Yeah I know, I saw that last night after updated everything. It was already late and MT is screwing up right now so I didn't mess with it. That's also why you got a 500 error when you tried to post a comment. It saves it in the DB but freaks out when it tries to rebuild the page. Hopefully somebody figures out what's going wrong and fixes it ASAP.

Nice it looks sharp I love the banner and the comments are cool with the hover feature. It loads nicely unlike my blogger site.
