NCAA Football 2006 gets a cover boy
Every other year the cover athlete has been a player who just graduated, but this year it'll be Desmond Howard.
That one is definitely out of left field. Howard won the Heisman Trophy way back in 1991, did they even wear face masks back then? I guess Rashaan Salaam wasn't available. I'm sure EA wanted to promote the new Race for the Heisman
mode and picking a more recent winner wouldn't work because they'd already been on the cover, are still in school, smoke too much weed, or just plain suck ass. Given those options, I'd have either picked Carson Palmer or just chosen someone like Braylon Edwards or Ronnie Brown.
I hope they're not putting too much work into the new mode that most die-hard fans of the game won't hardly play. I'm excited about all the small updates they add every year, the new players, and of course the very cool changes they've made to recruiting.
Since EA didn't put him on the cover, I figured I'd make my own of DJ.

Actually, as my post and the article says, it'll be Desmond Howard. It's already been decided, EA announced it.
