Headed home...

Wow, it's been a long time since I've been home to New Braunfels. In fact, I haven't been since we moved up here to Dallas in early June. Over four months, definitely the longest I've ever been gone. I can't stand spending my precious weekends driving, I'd much rather sit on my ass and watch 48 hours of football.

Now it's not like I'm neglecting my family or have run away never to return again, I've actually seen my parents several times. They came and visited on at least three occasions. A couple times just to visit and once on the way somewhere else.

I don't really miss Austin/NB, but it is weird not being there. I do miss seeing nothing once in a while. There's nothing but people and buildings around here, so it'll be nice driving and seeing nothing but grass and cows for as far as the eye can see. Of course there's like three random ass farms here in Plano, but those don't count. There's like 10 acres of open pasture right next to a Starbucks and a Gap. It's odd.

Best part of the whole trip? Leaving work early! We want to make it to my parents in time to go the Canyon football game, so I've got to take off early so we can drive and miss traffic. I got here nice and early this morning, but it's been pretty difficult to be productive knowing I'm leaving at noon.

I love weekends.

Update: Worse thing about the trip? Just being home and around CHS gave me nightmares about teaching. Both nights I was there I had weird dreams about having to teach again for some reason. The horror!!
