Review: Underworld

Underworld

Not a bad movie, but certainly wasn't a very good one either. There was surprisingly little action considering it's a vampires vs. werewolves movie. Or maybe the action just wasn't very memorable.

The story itself is pretty decent: an ancient war between the two species is continuing into modern times and we find out the origins of the war as well a possible conclusion. Definitely open for a sequel.

Kate Beckinsale (Selene) was good but they barely acknowledged how hot she was. And Kraven (Shane Brolly) was such an annoying weasel, he needed more depth to his character. He didn't seem to have any motive for his evilness, every other character had two sides to them except him. I really liked the character Lucian (Michael Sheen) the werewolf leader, but I can't really explain why too much without giving away a lot of the plot.

Overall an average movie that may result in a good sequel.
