Thumb Gods has a history of the video game console from 1972 to the present. Starts off with the Magnavox Odyssey and lists every console up to the Nintendo Wii and Playstation 3. Includes Wikipedia links for more details on the consoles.

My first console was in the second generation, the Atari 5200. I sure loved baseball, Defender, Dig Dig, and Pole Position. There were some great games for the system. I wonder what year we got the Atari? I'm pretty sure the box for the trackball controller is still in the attic at my parents' house, with the Christmas lights in it. I tried setting it back up a few years back in college, it still worked but the games just didn't age well at all.

The Super Nintendo and the Playstation 2 are easily the best systems on the list.

Mine was the original Nintendo, I was a little late as my parents were behind on the times.
