The Draft continues...

April 24, 2004 at 12:45 PM

The Falcons are on the clock. I've got no idea what they're gonna do. They need lots of help everywhere but RB and QB. I think with the remaining guys on the board they should trade down and get an extra pick or two.

The Atlanta Falcons select...

DeAngelo Hall, CB, Virginia Tech.

Cornerback was a definite need for the Falcons, but is Hall as good as people think he is. He's got freaking blazing speed, but how good are his cover skills? He shut down Fitzgerald, but Fitgerald never had to play against quality defensive backs. I think they would have preferred to have some offensive help, but there wasn't a ton of value left this high.

The Jacksonville Jaguars are on the clock. They're in the same predicament as Atlanta, needing offensive help for a good young quarterback. The best guys available are defensive lineman. DT/DE Tommie Harris (SUCKS!), DT Vince Wilfork, DE Will Smith, and DE Kenechi Udeze.

The Jacksonville Jaguars select...

Reggie Williams, WR, Washington.

Wow, surprising. I knew they wanted offense, but this is a stretch to take him this high. They could have traded down and still gotten him. Damn, they must have been trying really hard to trade up to get Roy Williams. Reggie is good, but he's definitely a tier below the other two receivers.

The Houston Texans are on the clock. And probably desperately trying to trade their pick. Still a young expansion team means they have lots of needs and Roethlisberger is by far the highest rated guy left. Texans have David Carr so will be looking to get a good trade or probably pick defense.

The Houston Texans select...

Dunta Robinson, CB, South Carolina.

They need corner help and they got it. Is he over rated? I've never heard of him and he played at SC. Guys like him shoot up because of needs and a lack of talent at the position. I'm becoming a Texans fan, so I hope he proves me wrong.

The Pittsburgh Steelers are on the clock. And I'm guessing taking Roethlisberger. Tommy Maddox is old and shitty.
