Supercuts blows

November 01, 2004 at 08:28 AM

Supercuts sucks. I know, everyone probably already knows that.

But how do you cut a sideburn at an angle? I can understand being too stupid to make both sideburns the same length, but they cut my left one at like a 45 degree angle. Unbelievable. So now I had to cut both of them short to make it straight. Morons.

Maybe it's my fault, but twelve dollars is about my price max for a haircut. It takes a total of like 12 minutes to do my hair, no way you're getting more than a dollar per minute out of me.

And thanks Christina for not even noticing.

Why don't you go to a real haircutting place.

I told you, because all the "real" hair places cost way too damn much for the effort they have to exert on me.

A possible idea is to go to a hair academy (beatuy school). If you request a student close to graduation, you will get a student truly intrested in what they do, and have a teacher (professional) make sure your hair looks great. The one I went to today was $6 bucks, and the girl who cut my hair did a great job, and was very detail oriented.

Apparently you are a very cheap person man but really you shouldn't judge a salon because of one stylist. i work at supercuts and i have somewhere around 75-100 request customers that only return to me. choose someone else in the salon to cut your hair. watch the different stylists to see which one does the best job. look at the way their hair looks and their clothes look the ones who look nice apparently care about apperances. look at the people who work with you at your job. now tell mw there arent some people who dont do a great job. not everyone is great. really, man give supercuts a second chance. you may be pleasantly suprised

Supercuts is always terrible. Different stylists, different locations, different cities, it doesn't matter. Jstyle, maybe you have so many repeat customers because you're the only barber who works at Supercuts who doesn't suck. Or maybe you work near a mental institution or a school for the blind. Jk.

I've unfortunately been back to Supercuts several times since I originally posted it. A couple weeks ago I desperately needed a haircut but was in a hurry and had to run by Supercuts. The moron who cut my hair actually didn't screw up my sideburns for once, but instead just took her scissors and cut my bangs in a straight line across my forehead. I couldn't believe it. Apparently she must've thought I was a big Suzanne Whang fan.

Ugh, I just the same thing happen to my sideburns there! I had a bad experience last year at one location but have continued to patronize another because it's right near my workplace and I'd had better luck there. After this latest mishap though, to hell w/ 'em...

Supercuts DOES SUCK, has nothing to do with how much it costs, it just plain ass sucks, what they show in the TV AD is NOT what you get when you walk in, what you get is some lamer who gives you a hair cut with a trimmer, its supercuts, not SPEEDYCUTS., there are SOME ppl there who do know how to cut and are very good, but in general its a 50-50 chance of getting screwed., every now and then i get fed up and go back to a hairstylist where i pay $50 for a cut that i want.

I have worked for a Superuts for over 18 months after working in the industry for over 18 years at various levels of salons. I must agree that there are certain stylists who do suck- badly. I work with some and must admit that a customer has to exercise extreme caution when they visit for a haircut. The truth of the matter is this. Supercuts- owned by Regis a large company that oversees franchises throughout the US employs what it can get. With my experience- I came to Supercuts with a book or following- and am only making $8 an hour... The same as the morons that cut bangs too short, screw up sideburns and in one instance actually waxed off a woman's eyebrow. It is the Walmart of haircutting establishments but after working for a private salon that closed, I was basically forced to lower my standards or starve. Unfortunately, you get what you pay for. The company cares nothing about you or I and frankly don't care if you are satisfied because they are only interested in volume (not hair) but numbers, per customer sales, and customer turnover. basically $15 gets you 15 minutes or less in my chair. I have the snip wounds on my fingers to prove this, but I need to carve out a living. A stylist- no matter how good they are, how many customers they pull in is paid basically the same amount as the ones that suck. Management- if it exists at all in a salon is only concerned about covering shifts. This does include hiring unlicensed and untrained individuals... Usually Asian immigrants who will work for substantially less and keep their mouths shut and their heads down. This is because our snooty beauty industry has allowed this to happen. Regis is a major mover and shaker and is currently making attempts to change Cosmetology laws nationwide- to make it easier for them to continue this practice by loosening the restrictions and licensing critria set forth by State Licensing Boards which at present require your hairstylist to have at least attended a licensed cosmetology course and requires your stylist to successfully pass a state board exam. Everyone suffers in this instance. First and formost the customer who can be exposed to unethical practices, poor disinfecting practices. If these laws are allowed to change you will be lucky if all you leave with is a bad haircut.
Because I'm the best they've got at this particular Supercuts, it's unfortunate that I'm mobbed from the time I walk in to the time I close. Most of the time I'm forced to work alone. The other times I do work with someone else, They're inept. I have to train them how to work the register etc. Management duties I am not paid to do. I've been yelled at by supercuts customers- that they have to wait an inordinate amount of time. I've worked 9-10 hour days straight- with no breaks (although 1/2 hour is deducted from each day's total pay to cover a nonexistant break) to the point where I've practically shit my pants behind the chair because everytime I've attempted to take some sort of break another over demanding haircut has just blown through the door. This is usually some fussy dick head with two hairs on his head five minutes before closing who vehemently insists on a time consuming scissor over comb techinique haircut in lieu of practical clippers. He wants his $15 worth. Is adamant about the good work I've just done and then walks out- no tip.

supercuts does suck. They expect you to do every cut with thier 'proven technique'. Hello dipshit, that was developed in 1975, step up a few years into the present. My customers love the cuts I give them, and yes, they are quick, but accurate. I have a lot more schooling than state required, attend show and classes regularly and, wait, supercuts didn't even encourage me to keep up with the current. It just amazes me how many stylists here do suck and can't even do a basic cut without finding a way to screw it up. Thank God I am leaving this wretched company. Oh yeah, if any of you supercuts big wigs are reading this, I WANT MY OVER TIME YOU OWE ME!

Supercuts sucks BIG TIME! I went to the Southaven, MS location and was told I would have to wait MAYBE 30 minutes. After 45 minutes and noticing that 4 people who came in AFTER me were already getting their hair cut, I told the girl behind the counter. She made NO APOLOGY and simply said " Well, you are next." Well, I WASN'T next, so I said "Never mind, you apparently don't take people in order, I'll go elsewhere." She simply wrote something on the back of my ticket and put it aside. I will continue with my military barber.

i work presently at a supercuts in la and cannot believe alot of the crap that goes on ,you are so right to state that you have to be the sleeziest person to really get anywhere with this company. i hold myself and my family way above what has ever worked there. if you have any problems you cannot get anyone to resolve them because the immediate supervisors are just like the trash that you have the problem with. what the hell ever happened to hard work and that word "respect" that we 30-above grew up with. guess that went out the window with all the other morals and values. these people who work there need to be phycologically evaluated and most need rehab. then of coarse you have the whores, married or not who would "pounce" on whatever comes through the door.

Brian, I don't know if you still check this website out or not....but here is my intake: I am an employee of Supercuts, have been for 7 years now. I have seen alot and know alot. I want to apologize for your bad haircuts. Supercuts hires anyone, good or bad! It pisses me off, it make those of us who are good look bad.I have meet some great people (customers) while working for this company. I only stay because it is convenient hours for me. I hate this company. The only thing they care about is MONEY. Not you the customer, not me the employee who is making them money. If you get a bad haircut the only thing that will happen is: 1. they tell you to come back, see if we can fix it for you 2.maybe maybe give you your money back....in which I have never seen in seven years. The person who cut your hair may never even know you complained. Unless they are working when you call or come in to complain. As a matter of fact, anyone who calls the the complaint department the only thing that happens is they call the area supervisor , then the supervisor calls the manager of that store....and well sorry folks its ends there...no one is talked too about it..NOTHING HAPPENS TO YOUR COMPLANT. They have fired people, for stealing money, supplies and for people who do drugs while on the clock. Yes, I said drugs! Some who where,on drug while cutting maybe...your hair. (think about that for a minute) And have hired them back because they need a body on the floor. They have fired people for no reason, these people are good hard working people. Great hairdresser's! These hairdresser's are the ones who say it like it is, and Supercuts doesn't like that. Each Supercuts store runs different, even though it is corp. and suppose to be the same across the board..it is not. Different managers different rules apply. These managers that they hire..are not very smart. I have gone threw several manages...here are some examples... one got demoted on grounds of stealing money.....she is now up for another managers position in another store. Others have stepped down, for not making enough money .....they later fired one because she know too much..One who is managing the store now, is not doing well, she is unfriendly, no personality, and in my opinion can't cut hair either. This is the one who well be there for awhile, because no one want this store. I just wish for everyone who is thinking about getting there haircut at Supercuts, just stops and thinks for a minute, if you do not have one particular hairdresser, then ask yourself this: Do I realy want to give my money to a big cooperation who doesn't care about the hairdresser they employee never mind me.."the customer"? For all of you out there....stick with a privately owned hair salon or Barber...they care about you. There are reasonably priced cutters out there.
My final note: SUPERCUTS DOES BLOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Went to Supercuts on August 3rd at 10:15 am. Signed in and was told 30 minute wait, so I did some errands and came back at 10:45am. The girl was just ringing out the client and told me to sign in. I told her that I already did and was coming back...no one else was waiting. She turned around and walked to the back, out the door and lit a cigarette. I waited 5 more minutes before storming out. I am tired of these girls needing a "butt break" before each client. Lazy, unprofessional, and absolutely no customer service whatsoever. My 2 sons and husband are now done with this plae!
