Second interview today

April 27, 2004 at 09:08 AM

Today will go a long way in determining my future. That's pretty heavy. I have a second interview this afternoon with Whole Foods in Austin, I'm one of only three finalists left for the job. If I do well and get the job I'll be working for an amazing company in the city I want to and doing a job that sounds really interesting to me. And if I bomb, the search will continue. I'm not nervous yet, hopefully I won't be. But I am fully aware of how important today is going to be. This will determine what I do for 50 hours a week for the next 45 years. Eek!

I had a phone conference yesterday with Management Insights. I think it went pretty well. Since last weeks interview in Austin wasn't with any technical people, they wanted some IT guys to be able to talk to me and vice versa. They both seemed like nice guys, they didn't have too many questions. We talked a lot about my VB 6 and SQL experience (at UICI) and about a few other things. I got to ask them a couple questions too, it sounds like a pretty good position. I think I'll find out more between now and Thursday. Cross your fingers.

Geez, can you put any more pressure on yourself. Don't think of it that way, it'll just make you nervous. Think of it as a this will be my stepping stone, not the rock you're going to live on the rest of your life.
