Good read on Chris Simms

October 08, 2004 at 10:53 AM

Good article on Chris Simms from Tampa Bay Online. Talks a lot about his UT days and the lessons learned. A lot of comments and quotes from Mack Brown and some current Horns. I'll definitely be watching his first career start this weekend and be rooting for him to succeed.

Ricky wants back (again)

October 05, 2004 at 08:58 PM

It sounds like Ricky Williams has no urge to pay the $8.6 million an arbitrator told him he owed the Dolphins. He's asked his agent to find out what it would entail to get back in the league and playing for the Dolphins this season. Problem is, even if he wants back he's facing suspensions for all sorts of reasons.

Bonds introduced Sheffield to BALCO

October 05, 2004 at 01:35 PM

I really hope Barry Bonds blows out his knee mowing the lawn or something this offseason. There is no way I want this man passing Hank Aaron or even Babe Ruth on the all-time home run list.

I am getting more and more convinced that Bonds is/was on steroids, and this story from ESPN seems to be in line with that theory. Gary Sheffield reportedly told a grand jury that Bonds introduced him to BALCO and that he unknowingly used a topical steroid. Sheffield also calls Bonds an a-hole repeatedly:

The breaking point occurred, Sheffield told SI, one morning when Bonds left for their workout without him, leaving Sheffield to find his own ride to the gym. When Sheffield arrived, he found Bonds laughing at him with someone he later learned was a writer for Men's Journal.

What a class act.

Astros have wild-card lead

September 30, 2004 at 09:58 AM

Astros won last night to sweep the Cardinals, while the Cubbies and Giants both lost. What does that mean? Well, the Astros now have a half game lead in the National League wild-card race with only four games to go.

Bad news for me and the Astros? If the Astros do win, they'll likely play the Braves in the first round of the playoffs.

Indians pitcher shot

September 30, 2004 at 09:47 AM

No one was seriously hurt, but pitcher Kyle Denney had to have a bullet removed from his calf by trainers when someone fired on the Cleveland Indians' team bus.

I'm sure if one of the players had tried to tackle the shooter in defense, MLB would have suspended him at least eight games.

Kobe's still a POS

September 29, 2004 at 06:40 PM

Man, is Kobe Bryant an a-hole or what? New reports have him just flat out rolling over on Shaq, claiming he paid off his women all the time.

UNC punter steals flash drives

September 27, 2004 at 08:50 AM

The University of North Carolina has sucked at football since Mack Brown left, and now they're kickers are stealing from Wal-Mart. Man, they've really fallen on hard times. What kind of jackass tries to steal a bunch of USB flash drives, they're not that valuable and everyone who wants one has one.

Moron.

Braves' magic number: 3

September 22, 2004 at 08:22 AM

The Braves won last night and are one step closer to winning their 13th straight division title. Any combination of three wins by the Braves or three losses by the Florida Marlins clinches the title.

Winslow injury costly to wallet too

September 21, 2004 at 09:11 AM

Now this make the hilarious injury to Kellen Winslow Jr. even funnier: "All Winslow had to do was participate in 35 percent of the Browns' offensive plays and he qualified for two sets of bonuses that would have given him $5.3675 million in 2005."

Kobe free, still a scumbag

September 17, 2004 at 02:06 PM

Wow. This is the transcript of an interview between Kobe Bryant and Eagle County PD just one night after the incident. Kobe comes out of it looking pretty bad.

To sum it up: Kobe's cheated multiple times. He tried to buy his way out of trouble. He likes it rough. He wanted to have anal sex with her but she declined.

Insurance company won't pay Lance

September 16, 2004 at 03:23 PM

Wow, talk about low class. A Dallas insurance company was supposed to pay Lance Armstrong five million bucks for winning his sixth Tour de France. Well now they're balking at paying the money, due to the baseless claims that Lance used performance-enhancing drugs.

Nice work morons.
