I want this, BAD!
Holy crap I want this TV. It's a wall-mounted DLP projection HDTV with an integrated tuner. Freaking sweet. Too bad it's $9000, a tad out of my price range. When (if?) I get a new job I will start seriously looking for a big, widescreen, high def television. I need to wait as long as possible though, because the technology is changing so fast and getting cheaper fast too. I'm going to at least wait... Continue reading

More on GMail
Really interesting thoughts on GMail from Brad Choate. (Whose site I found because of his MT plug-ins, namely EmbedImage.) He hypothesizes that not only will Google be able to offer 1 GB of free email storage, but may even be able to pay people to use the service. Or at least for clicking on ads they see. If I'm going to be targeted by ads (by DoubleClick, etc) I might as well get to see... Continue reading

This thing is bad ass
I'm not sure exactly who MaxVision is, but apparently the guys at Gizmodo do so I guess they're a reputable company. If anyone has $17,000 (for the cheapest configuration) they can loan me to buy this thing I'll be your best friend. It's a big mother of a workstation built into a ruggef case with three 19" LCD monitors built in too. Up to five hard drives for 700 GB of storage, a dual Intel... Continue reading

I got TiVo!
Since I apparently have been rejected from three different jobs in the last two days, I decided to cheer myself up and buy electronics. So I went home and got all my Best Buy gift cards and certificates (50 bucks worth) and went down to the store and bought myself a TiVo DVR. I've been wanting one forever, but had always talked myself out of it. I had a TV tuner on my PC so... Continue reading
New virus outbreak?
I've gotten two virus-infected emails at my UT address today within an hour of each other. One from someone I know but haven't spoken to in years and another from a random UT address. They were a little different but both had a lot of similarities in both the subject line and the body. Be on the lookout if you receive any emails with attachments (you should always be alert jackass!)... Continue reading

Austin company sues over JPEG patent
An Austin company is suing just for shits and giggles over their supposed owning a patent over an algorithm used in the JPEG image format. It seems the company has no real plans or products, just a plan to sue the pants off everyone. The company has actually scared enough people into handing over $90 million (including $16 mil from Sony.) It's the same idea that SCO used to sue company's based on their Linux... Continue reading

There are 600,426,974,379,824,381,952 ways to spell Viagra
Someone clever with too much time on their hands has "researched" how many different ways spammers spell Viagra. The real question is how many times someone has been stupid enough to click on one of the links and try to purchase the stuff.... Continue reading

Cyber-squatting mother fuckers
So I had like the most brilliant idea ever the other night to contact Lance and see if I could design/maintain an official site for him. I figured I could do it for free for him (have him pay for expenses though) and just use the site to show people my capabilities. Plus he could even recommend me to other people that needed sites. There was no www.lanceberkman.com on Saturday. Now look, some stupid ass-holes... Continue reading
Freaking sweet: Webcam Pet Dish
This may be the coolest damn thing I'ver ever seen, not overly useful but freaking cool. It's an automatic pet feeder that you can even control via the Internet. Hop on the website and tell the thing to dispense food and even SEE your pet from the integrated webcam. I must have this NOW! It's called ISeePet, go check it out.... Continue reading

Wired: Onion Taken Seriously, Film at 11
This is pretty funny, you crazy Asians you. For those of you who read The Onion, you know it's a pretty hilarious but very fake news site. Current stories include New Negative Campaign Ads Blast Voters Directly and Rumsfeld Looking Forward To Secretary's Day. Well apparently the Beijing Evening News doesn't catch on too quick. Read this.... Continue reading

This just in: Macs suck, iPods rule
Apple sold 57,000 more iPods last quarter than they did Macs. For some insane reason Steve Jobs is pretending to be happy about it. The really sad part is that 749,000 morons actually bought those POS computers. Here's the article.... Continue reading
