Detroit pitcher injured by Guitar Hero

December 16, 2006 at 03:35 PM

Detroit Tigers fireballer Joel Zumaya was sidelined during this year's American League Championship Series against Oakland. The 22 year old reliever pitched only a single inning during the series because of an injured forearm. Now thanks to a radio interview with general manager Dave Dombrowski we know that Zumaya's inflamed forearm came thanks to the PS2 game Guitar Hero: During the radio interview, Dombrowski said the Tigers' athletic training staff discovered that Zumaya's forearm... Videos from Red River Rivalry

October 08, 2006 at 07:19 AM

Texas knocked off their hated rival the Oklahoma Sooners Saturday in the Red River Rivalry here in Dallas. It was a great game for Longhorn fans but was certainly scary for at least the first half. The team pulled it out in the second though finally clicking on offense and getting a couple of big turnovers. Texas scored the final 21 points and ended up with a 28 - 10 victory. Check out my videos... Continue reading

EA's NFL Head Coach commercial

June 22, 2006 at 07:32 AM

You know what's a bad idea? Letting Eddie George go. Get me a water. Notice a guy wearing George's old number 27 standing behind the two as they argue over the play call. Now that's funny. The game was released yesterday and is getting decent reviews, something I'd definitely pick up if NCAA Football 2007 wasn't coming out in just a few more weeks. I'm going to try to rent it from Blockbuster this... Continue reading

Food from grocery stores and other minor league hardships

April 15, 2006 at 05:32 PM

Stupid kid from nearby Rowlett, Texas gave up on his (and just about a million other kids) lifetime dream after 3 freaking days and walked away from a $460,000 deal with the Colorado Rockies. Hmmm... playing baseball for a living or going to school at Richland Community College? I can see why Kyle Hancock is having such a tough time wrestling with that decision. The next stop on the road trip was Orem, Utah. Hancock,... Continue reading

TiVo Camouflage

April 15, 2006 at 11:11 AM

Hilarious question posed to Bill Simmons' latest mailbag on ESPN.com this week: Q: I love TiVo, but why can't I change the name of my saved shows? In the days of the video, I could tape what I want, change the name to "Broncos Highlights -- 1994" and rest assured my wife would never look at it. Now, if I TiVo something she might not like, "Naughty Nurses" is right on the saved list. Has... Continue reading

People may think pro athletes are dumb...

March 23, 2006 at 08:48 PM

But apparently their family members are even less intelligent. Pittsburgh Steelers safety Tyrone Carter was fortunate enough to get a chance to play in Super Bowl XL and I guess his brother thought he might never get another chance to see this happen. Instead of showing up for the beginning of his six month prison sentence on January 6th, Tank Carter decided to skip town and party with Snoop Dogg in Detroit. The price... Continue reading

Vince Young to enter NFL draft

January 08, 2006 at 08:05 AM

The Houston Chronicle is reporting that Vince Young has scheduled a press conference for 3pm today and will announce he is headed for the NFL. Young will reportedly sign with Steve McNair's agent Bus Cook. Obviously disappointing news for Longhorn fans but probably the best decision for Vince. His stock is about as high as anyone's could get right now and he's probably got a chance for some endorsements coming off his legendary Rose... Continue reading

Awesome, Grande Cable is f***ing piece of crap

January 04, 2006 at 06:45 PM

Apparently they decided today was a good day to screw up and drop ESPN and instead show Fox Sports on 2 dif channels at once. This is the same POS company that in 2006 does not offer digital cable or HD original promised date of availability for HD: 9/2004. Pathetic. I'm sure glad i get my HD via OTA antenna and won't be relying on these morons.... Continue reading

Jeremy Shockey's premature celebration

December 04, 2005 at 08:52 PM

A week old now, but still hilarious. Jeremy Shockey celebrates a little early after teammate Jay Feely's last second field goal. Feely missed that one wide left and two more in overtime as the Giants lost to the Seahawks. (via)... Continue reading

Texas at Baylor

November 05, 2005 at 09:37 PM

Christina and I woke up nice and early and headed down to Waco to see the Horns play Baylor. Very good game if you're a Texas fan, but it was a little boring at times. Texas rolled them 62 to nothing in a game I was actually a little nervous about at the start. The Bears have been anemic on offense all year, but their defense is stout and after last week you never... Continue reading

Skip Bayless is a joke

October 27, 2005 at 09:09 PM

That's certainly not breaking news, but Skippy has outdone himself this time. In his latest article on ESPN.com writes that there's no way Texas should be number one in the country and that we wouldn't stand a chance head-to-head against USC. It's one thing to have that opinion (though I think it's completely wrong), it's another to then not back it up with rational argument. Hmmm... I wonder why he'd have such an irrational hatred...
