Pardon my dust...

July 05, 2005 at 10:24 PM

In case you didn't notice, this site is currently undergoing some cosmetic changes. Not really a redesign (though it took me long enough!), but more of a retouch. Cleaned up all the graphics and a lot of the code, and just gave everything a more polished look. Unfortunately, I had to slightly alter the HTML in a couple places (added an extra div around the main section and gave a div in the sidebar boxes... Continue reading

I've messed with my links RSS feeds

May 15, 2005 at 06:14 PM

On Friday I made some changes to the way daily links were categorized and therefore have dropped my Quicklinks RSS feed, hopefully you didn't even notice and you shouldn't have to make any changes. The original plan was to try to keep blogroll and other favorites separate from my daily links in the feed, but after posting more than 600 links and 580 of them being of the daily variety I realized the extra effort... Things they are a-changing

March 16, 2005 at 05:26 PM

Just thought I'd chat with you a little on the status of this site. Not a major update or anything, but there's been a lot of little changes in the last couple of weeks on the back end of things so if you see anything funny please let me know. Plus I wanted to brag about some random traffic surges I've had lately. Site traffic The number of visitors to this site has skyrocketed in... Continue reading

New Year's Resolutions

January 03, 2005 at 07:03 PM

Rather than making a single post with all of my New Year's Resolutions that I'll forget about in two months, I've decided to set some goals for myself and actually focus on attaining them. They might be short term or long term, easy or hard, serious or silly, but they're all legitimate goals that I have. I've added a brand new Goals category to the Doing section of my site to keep track of everything.... Continue reading

My server died!

November 23, 2004 at 08:39 PM

Alright, this pisses me off at least a little bit. This site as well as 722webdesign are both hosted at Surpass Hosting. They are by far the cheapest host I was able to find and I haven't had too much trouble with them before. So today at about 2 pm the whole freaking thing crashed. It was down for about an hour and then it looked like they had reinstalled Linux/Apache/Cpanel. I was in contact... Continue reading

Posted in Site Updates Version 3.0

October 17, 2004 at 05:57 PM

I want to start this off by saying Internet Explorer blows. Big time. For some reason, the same HTML and the same damn CSS don't result in the same damn thing. On certain pages in IE the main content area is too wide and has some extra white background crap sticking around. POS outdated browser! It's done (sorta) For the most part things are functioning throughout the site in both good browsers and the one... Continue reading

Temporary skin

October 10, 2004 at 09:51 PM

Changes aplenty have been made and a whole new look is almost ready. For those of you using Firefox or on a Mac, you can catch a glimpse of the future by visiting the redesigned weblog page here. Otherwise you get a temporary new look until the other one is completely ready. There are still many changes/fixes to be made, namely IE compatibility. I also want to make some changes to the way individual entry... Continue reading

Redesign on it's way

September 14, 2004 at 03:01 PM

The site redesign is moving along nicely. The main stuff is almost done, but there's still a lot of stuff to be done on stuff like archives and comments pages. But just for fun, here's a preview.... Continue reading

UT versus Arkansas highlights

September 14, 2004 at 02:58 PM

I'm now hosting highlights of the UT versus Arkansas game from last Saturday for JCDenton. Check it out. Update: Well that sucked down a whopping amount of bandwidth in just one day. I had to take the highlights down to ensure I'd have enough bandwidth for my other sites. Sorry.... Continue reading

New MT version installed

August 31, 2004 at 09:44 PM

The new version of MovableType (MT 3.1) was released today and I've already gotten it up and running here. Not too much that you guys will see right away here, but it's just the first of many changes that are on their way. A couple of immediate differences: MT-Blacklist v2 is installed. For you that means your comments will appear immediately after you make them. More importantly, for me it means no longer wading through... Continue reading

Take that you domain stealing bastards

August 02, 2004 at 01:42 PM

I've been getting more and more more interested in the business of web design lately, so last week I decided to look for a possible new domain name. I wanted an address that could be focused on design and my (currently non-existent) portfolio, so that this address could remain more personal. I was hoping for something to find a decent company name that would also have an available .com web address. I know I don't... Continue reading

Comment spam

July 29, 2004 at 01:23 PM

Over night last night this site was bombarded by comment spam to the tune of something like 150 new comments. So since some morons desire to spread the glory of penis enlargement through spamming worthless weblogs, I am going to have reenable comment moderation until I can get the new MT version and MT-Blacklist installed.... Upcoming redesign

July 25, 2004 at 06:29 PM

I just got my copy of MS Office 2003 from NewEgg so I'm currently working on an Access database to keep track of all my workout details and progress. Leave it to me to make working out nerdy. As soon as I'm finished with that I'll be beginning the redesign of this site. I've got a lot of stuff I plan on doing both on the back end and on the presentation of things. I've... I wish I had more time

June 30, 2004 at 06:56 PM

I would really like to update more and there's still a ton of changes to the site I've been wanting to make, but with work I just don't have the time/energy. I spend eight hours a day staring at a monitor and looking at code, so when I get home I just can't get around to working on this site. Trust me, I'd much rather spend my time updating here then working on stuff for... Continue reading

More changes

MT 3.0 installed

May 18, 2004 at 11:14 AM

I installed MT3 last night so bear with me if anything is acting a little funky. For one thing, the new commenting system requires TypeKey to authenticate commenters or else I will have to approve your comment before it will post. It's a pain I know, but judging by the spam comments my cruddy little site has gotten in the last three or four days (like three a day) I understand the reasoning for it.... Continue reading

Stupid Dreamweaver

April 26, 2004 at 09:12 AM

Freaking Dreamweaver fucked up my index templates. It randomly decided what should and shouldn't be capitalized and therefore I can't use my template I worked forever on. There should still be a decent version at home, I'll have to reupload it tonight.... Continue reading

Websites up and ready

April 20, 2004 at 09:42 PM

I've got 99% of my hosting transfer stuff done, all the sites are up and ready and hosted on a MUCH faster server. (my personal site, soon to be the host of my MT blog) and my CHS class site are both ready to go. Major changes and improvements should be on the way soon.... Continue reading

Web hosting and domain issues

April 20, 2004 at 11:34 AM

Arggggh, I'm having a ton of trouble figuring out all this hosting and domain crap. I've switched both my web hosting and my domain registration over to Surpass. Well at least I've tried to. I've had no problems with the hosting, but it's being a bitch about transferring the domain. It's my fault though, I forgot that I had locked my domain over at Dotster. So when Surpass tried to transfer, the transfer failed. I... Continue reading
