I may miss teaching

I had to give a demo at work today of an application we've been working on forever and I really enjoyed doing it. I think I may actually miss teaching. Let me clarify that last statement a little. I miss teaching, not being a teacher. Small but important difference there. I like explaining things to people, or maybe more accurately, telling other people what to do. I really enjoy sitting and having discussions about pretty much anything, especially technology related.

I have a tendency to talk Christina's ear off about random web design stuff. I keep showing her new things I learn or have done, she feigns interest while I'm showing her what I did and then drifts away when I start talking about how I did it. That's what really bothered me about teaching, nobody cared about the technology courses I was teaching. The students didn't want to be there and 95% of them were only there because it was a required elective that was supposed to be a blow off. It's really frustrating to try to explain something you really love to people who don't give a crap.

I've been thinking a lot lately that I'd really like to teach web design at the college level some day. Definitely something I could see myself doing as a supplement to a web design career when I'm older. Of course, who knows what web design will even be by then. I just want to find people who want to learn what I've learned before them.
